Everyone loves the Beatles, and the Fab Four famously got their start here in Germany. Ten minutes' drive from the hotel, the Beatles Museum is a personal love letter to the band. Harold Krämer has filled two rooms in his home with rare Beatles memorabilia including concert posters, photos, autographs and records, earning a nod for "Smallest Beatles Museum" in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Siegen was once a mining town, and there are still plenty of underground wonders to explore. One of these, the Atta Cave, was discovered over 100 years ago by quarrymen. A 40-minute drive from the hotel, it is part of Germany's largest interconnected cave system. Today you can tour the cave to explore a veritable forest of magnificent stalactites and stalagmites and learn about how they formed.

Don't Go Home Without

Don't Go Home Without

Germany wouldn't be Germany without beer, so don't miss local brews. There are a few breweries nearby, such as Erzquell and Irle, both 10 minutes' drive from the hotel, or Krombacher and Ilsen, about 20 minutes away. Ask the friendly hotel staff to enquire about available tours and help you book a visit. At the breweries you can enjoy freshly tapped beers and savour gastronomic specialities too.

Smart Tips

The countryside around Siegen hides a number of treasures, so it's well worth getting out of town. The hilltop castle ruins of Ginsburg are a half hour's drive from the hotel. If you're dreaming of a traditional German background for your photos, visit the town of Freudenberg, 20 minutes' drive away, where the Old Town’s cobbled streets are lined with rows of traditional, half-timbered houses.
