Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Simply Excellent
After reading some of the reviews I was kind of concern but I'm glad I decided to try it. The hotel and the room was super clean. In the afternoon we even had someone to come back every night and leave chocolate on our bed. The staff, from the reception to the person in charge of the beach towel, were very friendly and helpful. Everything was closed by, stores, restaurants, supermarket, etc. The only thing I didn't like was the price for breakfast in the hotel but other than that the stay couldn't be any better. I strongly recommend it!

Wish we could have stayed longer, do yourself a favor and upgrade your room to "ocean front". So many positive memories it is hard to organize them all to write the review.
Arrival:- The moment we arrived, we were greeted by a handful of staff members, willing to help. Everyone was Very friendly. Friendly was the theme of the visit.
Check in:- Check in is at 4:00pm, and if you arrive at noon, you really don't want to be wearing jeans for 4 hours while in paradise. We asked if there was somewhere we could quickly change #expecting him to show us where the restroom was# and the gentleman that was checking us in offered us a "Hospitality room". They gave us a key to a room for a half hour or so to freshen up, change etc. Very nice of them, way more than I was expecting. We were in our bathing suits and out on the beach within minutes of arriving. They will hold your bags until your room is ready.
Staff:- Every employee we encountered, was friendly, smiled, said good morning etc. never failed. It really didn't matter what position they held there, from #Security, bellmen, maid service, beach/pool attendants, concerige, bar tenders, etc.# Everyone went out of their way to acknowledge us and smile and say hello.
Location:- We felt the location was perfect in a number of ways. Across the street there is a mall, plenty of restaurants, stores, Starbucks, etc. In the Mall area in the evenings there is a courtyard where there is free entertainment, we saw a "cirque du soleil" type of show one night. As you walk down the street you see more and more things to do, places to go.
Beach:- We walked the beaches several times and we really liked the beach at the Holiday Inn better than some of the others. If you walk to the Left, you will find beaches at some resorts with seaweed you have to wade through and some beaches where the wind was pretty strong and sand blowing. #There is always some wind no matter where you go in Aruba, but it is welcome and helps keep you cool# If you walk to the right, the beach is very nice as well but you are walking away from location benefit.
There are plenty of things to rent #rafts, paddleboards, plenty of water sports right on the beach of the Holiday Inn. The Palapas are great to get, you reserve one right out on the beach for the next day, they start taking reservations at the towel hut at 4:00pm, they are free. Having a little shade to retreat to was a good thing. We felt very comfortable leaving our personal items at our beach chairs while we walked or swam.
Room:-- The room had a breathtaking view, as I mentioned before we did upgrade to the "ocean front" room, and we thought it was well worth it. We stayed in Palm tower which overlooks the left side of the beach and Pelican Pier #happy hour 4:00 - 6:00 daily...- when you go ask for German, he is a great server# The room was clean, and the sunset view is amazing, literally framing sunset between 2 palm trees.. Beautiful.
Restaurants and bars:- We did not really eat at the hotel, only because there was so many places right across the street or on the pier. There are several bars to have a nice drink at, outside on the beach by the pool, and inside at the hotel. We did very much like the pizza beachfront at the hotel, I know its only pizza, but it was very good. It is right next to the activities area.
MY TIP.-- buy a 6 pack at the hotel store or across the street and bring it with you out on the beach.. We had a cooler bag we filled with ice and had cold beer/soda whenever we wanted one. It is ok to drink on the beach #even bottles#.
There was a pretty good mix of people, some couples, some friends, some families, and some with small children. We went celebrating a wedding anniversary without children it was a good mix.
We cannot wait to come back, and when we do, we will stay at the Holiday Inn
