Must Do
How can we keep the Dead Sea alive? This is just one of the many fascinating questions posed and answered by the Dead Sea Museum, whose exhibits explore geological, ecological and historical aspects of one of the worlds iconic natural wonders.
Don't Go Home Without
Be sure to visit Jordan's biblical sites. Enjoy dramatic views over rolling hills from the top of Mount Nebo, where Moses reputedly first glimpsed the Promised Land. On the banks of the River Jordan, see the spot where John is said to have baptized Jesus.
Tips
It's a good idea to wear sandals when swimming in the Dead Sea. The sharp grains of crusted salt on the sea floor can scratch your feet, and the highly salty water makes even small grazes sting. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated in the desert heat.
