My first stay in this hotel was significantly better

I was staying there already in June 2017 and enjoyed it a lot. This time, I was disappointed. Not necessarily due to the local staff but also due to IHG policies.

First of all, my assigned room did not match my request (end of hallway, far away from elevator). In June, this was fulfilled without asking again. My room was changed upon request (1105). This room was particularly dirty (dust in carpet) and a lot of interior parts were very much worn out (curtains, lamps, etc.) so really not matching an expectation about an Indigo hotel. I was then asked to take another room (1205) which was a bit cleaner. I noticed there that the blankets and pillows have changed since June – just synthetic pillows (no down) and very thin “terry towel” style blankets. Worse than a Holiday Inn Express and nothing to be able to sleep in.
Housekeeping asked me if I am happy with the room and they assigned me to another room (801) which was very large but had the same bedding issues. They could find a down pillow and changed the blankets after the first night to a very comfortable one. I was told IHG required them to change the blanket and pillow type based on their standards. This standard is absolutely unacceptable and I am shocked about this. If other Indigo hotels change to the same items, I will never stay there again!
I also noticed that in each room, particular items were missing, e.g. the red bed covers, or room service menus, or pens/paper. In my final room 810 there were no water glasses in the bathroom and no small hand towels initially. Upon 2nd request I was provided with the items.
What made me very disappointed at the end was that in front of 801 there is the Ice Machine so I was disturbed by the noise all night – initially I asked for a quiet room? I did not want to move out again so I accepted this.
Also, in the hotel lobby, the Iced Water dispenser was disappeared the entire week – in June it was still there. The hotel provided me with water bottles instead.
At the last night, Internet did not work and at checkout, I was charged another person’s room service items. This could be resolved but it was annoying.
I also want to note that the hotel staff tried to make my stay comfortable and added bonus points to my IHG account which I appreciate. However, I still think the hotel has deteriorated a lot since my last stay and IHG should clearly focus on customer satisfaction here. Right now, I cannot recommend this hotel to anybody.

Great location! Friendly staff, great accommodations, fun location. Quick walk to the Brooklyn Bridge and a subway or taxi to the city. Great price for easy access to all Brooklyn has to offer. We will stay again!

We were greeted and welcomed by a very friendly staff! They were helpful and caring. The room was small, but very clean and efficiently designed. Loved the coffee maker, internet and use of Aveda products. It had all the comforts needed for our stay. Thank you!

In the center of it all in Brooklyn. Junior's is two blocks away and the food market is too. Close to shopping and transportation also. Would stay here again.
