Breakfast 1/3 gone before the half time up

On Tuesday morning, we went for breakfast at 8:10 am and were surprised to find there were no eggs left — both the Western omelette and boiled eggs had already run out, and only a few turkey sausages remained. When we asked if more would be brought out, the lady in charge bluntly said “No” and simply walked away.

I understand the breakfast is complimentary, but at nearly $300 a night, it’s hardly “free” — it’s built into the price we pay. The least that could be done is to run the breakfast properly, with enough food ordered and staff willing to keep it stocked for guests who come well within breakfast hours. The way it was handled felt careless and did not match the quality expected at this price point.

Hidden three air fresheners in the room

The most disappointing part of our stay was the issue with air fresheners, which completely went against the main reason we booked this hotel. The hotel’s website clearly states they do not use air fresheners anywhere and promise scent-free rooms — which is incredibly important for people with sensitivities or allergies.

But when we entered our room, we were hit with such a strong artificial smell that it gave all of us headaches, even after opening the windows. We spoke to the front desk and were told there were no air fresheners, just maybe some leftover deodorizer. That explanation didn’t sit right with us, so I thoroughly checked the room — and found three hidden air fresheners under the sink area, all at different levels, clearly left there over time. This was not just misleading; it felt like a serious breach of trust.

On top of that, we booked for four people, completed online check-in stating that, and still ended up with only two towels in the room. It’s frustrating to have to either call down and wait, or rely on towels we brought from home.

Parking was also quite limited, which added to the stress, though I understand that may be outside of hotel control.

Overall, we chose this hotel for very specific reasons based on what they publicly promised, and we left disappointed and frustrated. This experience makes it hard to trust the brand’s commitments in the future.

I had an amazing experience at the Holiday Inn Express Chilliwack East. From the moment I arrived, the staff were friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. You can tell they take pride in creating a great guest experience.

The pool was a definite highlight—clean, well-maintained, and perfect for unwinding after a long day. The entire hotel felt fresh, modern, and exceptionally well cared for.

The breakfast service was also fantastic. The staff working the breakfast area were warm, attentive, and made sure everything was well-stocked and clean. It’s little touches like that which make a stay memorable.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would absolutely stay again. Holiday Inn Express Chilliwack East is a shining example of what a great hotel experience should be. Highly recommended.

When I saw we had a room facing the highway I was worried we'd hear a lot of noise. We didn't hear a thing and the beds were so comfy I wanted to take it home with me. All the employees were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Nous avons passé une nuit à Chilliwack, en route vers Kelowna. Nous sommes arrivés tard, notre chambre était prête, l'auditeur de nuit nous attendait. La chambre était propre et le lit très confortable. Le lendemain matin, nous avons pris le déjeuner à l'accueil. Un très beau séjour, même si ce fut court. Merci.

Felt like I was the first person to ever stay at this hotel. Very modern and clean, friendly staff! USB ports (not USB-C) for charging, so be mindful of that, but plenty of outlets just in case. Convenience store nearby for quick snacks and drinks and very friendly staff! Would definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area and need lodging!

Loved it. Came from a hotel we were not happy with, bad experience, to here. It was great! Clean, friendly, quiet, comfortable and convenient.

The location was very close to Hwy1 and District 1881. The hotel and room are very clean and the stay was pleasant. The breakfast had variety of selection including beverages. Check in and out were fast and the staff were friendly.

Poor noise insulation for units facing highway

Overall the room was as expected for holiday inn express but poor noise insulation from highway made sleep difficult even though was provided with ear plugs.

Nice location for travelling around the area, very friendly and helpful staff! Would definitely stay here again and the rooms were very comfortable and spacious.
