Things to do
The Perfect Day

Start your day with a generous breakfast buffet in Al Ferdaus Restaurant. Afterwards, ask the concierge to book transport to the historic Al-Balad district, where narrow alleyways offer glimpses of grand old houses made of coral blocks. Enjoy the architecture of Nassif House, which has been restored to its former glory, allowing you an insight into the city’s past. Spend the rest of the morning at Al-Alawi Souq, where vendors sell spices, jewellery and fabrics amidst a riot of sound and colour.

In the afternoon, take a taxi to the Corniche, the waterfront resort area of the city. Enjoy lunch at a café overlooking the sea, or visit one of the many entertainment complexes. Al Shallal Theme Park offers rollercoasters and a boating lake for a fun family day out, while Fakieh Aquarium showcases the exotic marine life of the Red Sea. For a more authentic ocean experience, consider booking a tour to nearby Obhur for an afternoon spent snorkelling or scuba diving.

In the evening, catch the sunset at Al-Rahma Mosque, a majestic marble landmark that appears to float upon the Red Sea. After dark, take a stroll along bustling Tahlia Street, where major department stores rub shoulders with designer boutiques and upscale restaurants. Opt to eat out, or head back to the hotel for a seafood feast at Fish Market Restaurant. Enjoy spectacular views of the illuminated King Fahd's Fountain, before wandering down to the pool for a wonderfully cool nighttime swim.
