Knott's Berry Farm

Knott's Berry Farm predates Disneyland by several decades and still draws its own crowd, largely on the strength of its roller coasters. HangTime, Ghostrider, and Silver Bullet are the headliners, and the park's smaller scale makes it easier to get through in a single day. Knott's Soak City, the water park next door, runs from May through September and shares the same parking lot.

South Coast Plaza

No experience needed, and the format works for a solo visit or a group looking for something more active than another dinner out. It's about a twenty-minute drive from the hotel and a good option when the weather makes outdoor plans less appealing.

Disney California Adventure Park

California Adventure opened in 2001 as Disneyland's next-door neighbor and has expanded significantly since. Today it holds some of the resort's most popular attractions, including Radiator Springs Racers, Avengers Campus, and the Incredicoaster on Pixar Pier.
