SERCO Conference

I found the Crowne Plaza hotel at Louisville Airport to be a fine facility - the shuttle from the airport and return was excellent, the hotel facilities were better than anticipated and I will be using this facility again, if another conference is held in the Louisville area.

very unpleasant stay

We needed a room near the airport for a very early morning flight and chose this property for that reason and the Crowne Plaza reputation. We arrived and it was very busy with events and at least one conference. We were assigned a room, went to it and found it was already occupied. We returned to the lobby and as it was busy someone from the back came out to help us. He told my husband how sorry he was and assigned us to another room "his favorite room". We took the new room keys and went to the room and the keys did not work. We returned to the lobby again, now fairly frustrated, and they gave us new keys. We did get a call offering us free breakfast or drinks, but it was late and we were leaving before any breakfast was open so declined.
In the room we could hear what we thought was the shower running in the room above us. It was not the shower running as the loud draining water noise was continuous the whole night and never let up. We were exhausted but our sleep was not great since this continuous draining noise could be heard throughout the room all night. The next morning we left more blurry eyed than anticipated because of the poor sleep. Additionally I had about 4 to 5 insect bites that showed up the following day that had not been present when we checked in.
When we checked out we informed the desk that the draining sound was all night and they said some rooms are next to a conduit that made that noise. So not only was it a poor room and poor night sleep, but the desk help who told us it was his "favorite" I feel deliberately placed us in that room for unclear reasons (we obviously needed a different room since the first one was occupied).
Needless to say we will not return to this property despite what will be numerous trips in the future because one of our children just moved to Kentucky.
