Featured Hamburg Hotels

You'll feel at home in our Holiday Inn Express® Hamburg hotels, close to the center of Germany's biggest port city. In no time you'll be eating fresh herrings, cruising the city's canals and partying on the infamous Reeperbahn boulevard.

Hear tales of pirates as you stroll through Hamburg on one of the free daily walking tours, which depart opposite the stately neo-Renaissance City Hall. Hamburg's merchant past comes alive with a boat ride through the canals in the 19th-century Speicherstadt, past tall redbrick warehouses. "Der Michel" is the friendly nickname locals give to the iconic St Michaelis church, free to enter if you forego a visit to the tower. If you only have time to see one museum, make it the International Maritime Museum, which whisks you on a voyage of nautical discoveries. Our Hamburg hotels are near the old town, where you can window-shop in the boutiques of the elegant Alsterarkaden arcades and watch swans glide gracefully by.

The best show in town is Sunday's all-day Altona fish market, close to our Hamburg hotels. Here Marktschreier (market criers) entice you to buy everything from slippery eels to flowers and fruit. Assemble your picnic and head down to the waterfront. Everywhere you go in Hamburg you'll be tempted by fish fresh from the North Sea. Try spicy Aalsuppe (eel soup)-even if only once. Our hotels in Hamburg are near the lively Schanzenviertel neighborhood, packed with good-value restaurants dishing up world flavors and meaty German favorites. Abandon modesty to see the neon-lit party mile of Reeperbahn, where the Beatles first played.

Stay at our hotels in Hamburg in winter for fairytale Christmas markets and New Year's Eve fireworks. The whole city heads outdoors in summer for riverside beach bars and open-air festivals-many of which are free.

very good breakfast for a Crowne Plaza
By user2143
The best IHG hotel Hamburg has to offer is the Crowne Plaza (by IHG standards) Location: The hotel itself is in a nice quiet neighborhood, easy reachable by public transportation Bar: The staff is [More] very attentive and friendly, the atmosphere is very nice at the bar, definitely recommended to future customers Breakfast: The breakfast is very good, especiall for Crowne Plaza standards! The selection of Muesli is good, smoothies are available, and a chef who will make you an omelette as you wish, this is not available at all CP hotels, many times not even at IC hotels It was not very busy in the morning and enough staff was available, nevertheless not all tables were cleaned up, I can see improvement there. Interior of the hotel: Hotel looks very friendly and welcoming inside. Check-in and checkout: Exactly as it should be by IHG standards, recognition of IHG Rewards status, fast, efficient, at check out the staff even remembered my name room number before I handed back my room keys Now the most important part, the room: When it comes to the room, I'm very sensitive: Cleaniless: It was clean and no dirt was found Smell: As many hotel rooms it did smell like polish, so my 1st action was to open the window to get some fresh air inside of the room: AC: since my stay was during the winter time, I tried to turn on the heat of the AC, heat was working but it took very long til the room got warmer by a few °C bed: regular standard bed, it was sufficient, bonus would be a queen size oder king size bed The biggest down side for me was the light of the room, even thou it was a bright day, almost no light entered the room since I had a corner room with a small window. My preference is a room with a big enough window that allows enough natural lighting, that was the biggest downside of my entire stay. IHG Rewards Club membership acknoledgement: I received an upgrade to a Club Room upfront and accordingly planned my stay. The reservation showed: free minibar club lounge access when accessing the reservation online or on the IHG app so I was more than surprised at checkin that club lounge access was not granted. Staff informed me that lounge access is only granted when booking a club room not when getting upgraded to one. That would have been ok if I knew that upfront, however, since my reservation specificially said free club lounge access I was very disappointed of the news. [Less]
Real value for money
By Ludbah
For me, it was the perfect balance between price and accessibility to the town center. One of the memorable moments was hailing a taxi who then took us on a mini-tour of Hamburg. It was well worth [More] the extra Euros we paid. So much history and culture and the fact that the Hotel was central made it very easy to be in Hamburg [Less]

brilliant hotel
By methil-bob
Stayed here for 4 nights, and can say we would definetly stay here again, this hotel is not bang in the centre of the city, but very near, you can actually walk into the city centre in 20 mins. We [More] will also be looking at other Holiday Inn Express hotels in other areas of Europe to visit. [Less]
Nice service
Friendly and clean it is worth for that price. If ing has sauna would be great. [Less]
Great service modern rooms
By CPHBear
I like this hotel - the staff are great. There was no DND sign in the room and I went to ask the staff for one, he couldn't find one and he told me that he will put one on the door and he did! The [More] room is modern and nice. The bed is the only complaint - it could be better, but for 1-2 night stay it's ok. [Less]
