완벽한 하루

오전

Start the morning with a local breakfast of kaya toast with eggs and coffee. Ya Kun is a must try - its toast is wafer thin, topped with butter and a generous serving of homemade kaya (a jam made with coconut, eggs, sugar and vanilla). Take a morning stroll to the Sultan Mosque, which is one of Singapore's oldest monuments dating back to 1824. Along the way, you will see small streets and alleyways packed with shops selling colourful textiles and fabrics. A block away from the Mosque, on Kandahar street, you will find the Malay Heritage Centre, housed in the former Palace of the Sultan of Johor. Make a stop at Rumah Makan Minang for some halal food and refreshments, or a few steps away at Maison Ikkoku, combining a boutique, bar and cafe.

오후

The Chinatown Heritage Centre will transport you back to a time of samsui women (early immigrants from China who performed menial jobs in the early construction industry) and rickshaw pullers. Housed in three beautifully restored shophouses, it is unlike any museum in Singapore. Explore the culture and transitions of these early Chinese settlers through interactive exhibits and interviews with former Chinatown residents.

저녁

To end the day, enjoy a concert, play or musical at the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay, Singapore's most exciting performing arts centre. Stroll over to the Marina Bay Sands via the Helix Bridge, an architecturally unique bridge said to bring wealth, happiness and prosperity to Marina Bay. Head over to Lau Pa Sat, a Victorian market that has been restored to one of Singapore's favourite hawker centre. For a night of partying, Clarke Quay offers a range of clubs and bars.

WEATHER

Singapore's weather is mainly warm and humid. Bring an umbrella with you as you never know when it will rain. The average daily temperature is 26-32 degrees Celsius.

WHAT TO WEAR

Light, comfortable cotton clothing is recommended. Casual wear is acceptable almost everywhere though certain establishments and restaurants may have specific dresscodes to adhere to.

TIPPING

Tipping is not a must. However, feel free to do so when the service has been exceptional.

SMOKING

It is against the law to smoke in air-conditioned places such as shopping centres, restaurants and cinemas. Look out for smoking signs before you light up.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Singapore offers an efficient network of buses and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) train system. Access cards, also known as EZ-link cards, can be purchased at all MRT stations and bus interchanges. Taxis are also widely available. However during peak hours or on rainy days, it is advisable to book in advance. Note that all taxis are regulated by the government and fares are charged by the metre. Surcharges apply when travelling during peak hours, after midnight and within the city area. Electronic toll-gate charges known as ERP will also be added to the taxi fare.

JURONG BIRD PARK

In habitats that mirror their natural environments, Jurong Bird Park is Asia’s largest bird park with a collection of more than 5,000 birds across 400 species. Take a walk through 20.2 hectares of exploratory landscape, housing a line-up of award-winning exhibits, which gives visitors the opportunity to meet and interact with the park's feathered residents up close.

MERLION

The Merlion, a half-fish, half-lion beast is a fitting symbol of Singapore. The "Singa" or lion represents the animal that a Sumatran prince saw which resembled a lion, and the fish is a tribute to Singapore's history as "Temasek", the ancient sea town.

NIGHT SAFARI

The award-winning Night Safari is the world’s first safari park for nocturnal animals. Visitors will get to enjoy the unique experience of seeing over 2,500 animals in their naturalistic night time habitats.

SENTOSA

Visit our island resort getaway, Sentosa, just a short monorail ride away from VivoCity. Begin your tour of the island with a visit to the Sky Tower for panoramic views of Singapore. Thrill seekers can take a ride on the Skyline Luge Sentosa or check out the Universal Studios theme park. Visit the Underwater World which showcases the awe-inspiring beauty of a world beneath the sea or enjoy the various dining options available.

ISLANDS

The country consists of 63 islands. While the main island, known as Singapore Island, or Pulau Ujong, and Sentosa are the more famous ones, other smaller ones are not to be missed. Pulau Ubin to the north-east offers a nice getaway from the urban environment of the main island.

담을 아이템
