I travel 45-46 weeks a year. This hotel will go down as one of my all time favorite hotels. Every single employee greets you with a smile and hello. They’re constantly working on making sure the hotel is spotless.

We have a great nights rest and stuff was very helpful and we had no problems at all. There was no problem with our ESA dogs and the pet area was clean and well marked. The staff gave out treats to the ESA dogs and good rubbenz, Our helpers like the room and treats too.
Highway Noise, Unfriendly Staff & No Parking for Trailers

As a female traveling solo, cross-country, with a fully loaded SUV plus UHaul trailer, I found this particular Candlewood Suites location to be difficult and disappointing.
First, there were no dedicated spots for vehicles towing trailers or easy access for unloading or reloading my SUV because the side entrances were blocked. Second, because the nearby neighborhood had seen better days I didn't feel secure walking outside after dark. Third, while the hotel itself was well-appointed and the room pristinely clean, I could hear the nearby highway as if I were sleeping on it. Fourth, I found the front-desk staff on that particular evening to be less than welcoming.
When I first checked in, I diplomatically asked whether there was might be a room available on the backside. The woman helping me—Marika—cut me off mid-sentence, would not meet my eye, and seemed put-out when asked where the best spot would be to leave my vehicle + trailer so that it would be secure as well as out of the way. I actually asked if I'd offended her in some fashion. She said that I hadn't, without even bothering to look up at me.
Because we're human, we've all had challenging days that bleed over into work. However, when a customer points out that they feel uncomfortable with the interaction you'd think that might trigger a change in approach.
Needless to say, despite being a loyal IHG member, I will not stay at this particular location again. If you're a woman traveling alone, someone with a trailer, or simply someone who likes to be treated with respect, you may wish to stay elsewhere, too.
