Use the STAR method
When asked to share specific examples of your past experiences during interviews (ex: Tell me an example of something you did that you were proud of?), do your best to outline your response using the STAR format, starting with the set-up. This approach makes it easier for the interviewer to digest your answers. Share more about your Actions, and only brief context on your Situation, Task and Results.
SituationSet the scene
Give the background and context details of your example.
TaskDescribe the purpose
Describe your responsibilities in the situation.
ActionExplain what you did
Explain the steps you took to address the situation.
ResultsShare the outcome
Share what was achieved through your actions.
