IHG Travel Advisory

CURRENT ADVISORY

Our Travel Advisory Policy

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) understands that from time-to-time your booking may be affected by weather or natural disasters that are not planned.  In such cases, we make every possible effort to keep you informed and to provide you with the level of service that you require so that you can manage your bookings and plan around these unforeseen circumstances. If a Travel Advisory exists, we will display details about the advisory, how your booking may be affected and the process for how to proceed with as little stress and inconvenience as possible.

Focus on Flexibility. Book with Confidence.

We want you to book with confidence by providing flexible booking options. All bookings can be changed without charge and most rates are able to be canceled without penalty*.  To change or cancel a reservation, visit Manage Your Stay or call our Reservations and Customer Care team.

*Some exclusions to the cancellation penalty may apply. Please refer to the rate details for applicable terms and exceptions when booking or changing reservations.

Face coverings: US hotels

After careful review and in accordance with the new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance released last week and American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) Safe Stay guidelines and recommendations (https://www.ahla.com/press-release/ahla-statement-updated-cdc-mask-guidance), guests who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear face coverings while on property. We continue to encourage hotel guests who are not vaccinated (or yet fully vaccinated) to wear face coverings while indoors and outdoors where social distancing is not possible.

We will continue to evaluate our protocols to keep guests and hotel colleagues safe, in line with CDC and AHLA recommendations.

Travel Advisory for All Airline Passengers Arriving in the United States

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States recently announced a new COVID-19 testing requirement for all passengers entering the country via airplane. This order went into effect January 26, 2021. This order requires proof of a negative COVID-19 test, or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19, for all air passengers arriving from a foreign country to the United States, including U.S. citizens and permanent residents returning to the country.

Travelers can view the full CDC guidelines listed here: https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/fr-proof-negative-test.html

The CDC has also posted a variety of helpful information for travelers, including a detailed Q&A, here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/testing-international-air-travelers.html

Travelers should review their travel plans and plan accordingly for any travel into the United States. For any questions regarding any COVID-19 testing sites or testing resources offered at the IHG-branded hotel in your destination, please check the individual hotel property’s website on ihg.com prior to departure.
