2021 Presidential Inauguration – DC Area Travel Advisory

IHG is aware of reports of the potential for additional violent protests in and around the Washington DC area leading up to and during the presidential inauguration on January 20, as well as requests by government officials for individuals to avoid travel to the area.

In this turbulent environment, we want to ensure guests that our hotels are doing everything in their power to ensure safety, provide the highest level of hospitality for those seeking to stay at our hotels and flexibility for those who may wish to change their plans.

Beginning January 15th and continuing through January 21st, all hotels within a 20-mile radius of the U.S. Capitol will waive cancellation fees for guests wishing to make changes to their reservations during this time.

For information regarding reservations and hotel status, please visit or contact 1-877-424-2449.

IHG Rewards Club members with direct bookings are encouraged to call 1-888-211-9874.
