You couldn't miss Burj Khalifa if you tried – this 828-meter structure is now the tallest building in the world, and the centerpiece of Downtown Dubai's science-fiction skyline. The observation lounge on the 124th floor commands magnificent views. Some more beautiful locations that are a must see is The Pointe at Palm Jumeirah, Miracle Garden, Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo and much more.

Ski Dubai, the nearest fun destination to Holiday Inn - Al Barsha , is the Middle East's first indoor ski resort, is a short walk from the hotel. Kept at temperatures just below freezing, it offers five separate runs on real snow in the middle of the desert. The resort even has its own penguins! There are a lot more other places to visit such a City walk, Kite beach, Dubai water canal etc.

Don't Go Home Without

Be sure to visit the Bastakiya quarter. Dubai is such a futuristic city that it is easy to forget the past. Al Bastakiya is a historical place, it includes culturally significant sights, such as Dubai's oldest building (1780s), the Al Fahidi Fort, the Dubai Museum, and the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU), Persian markets and wind towers.

The dazzling modernity of Dubai can sometimes blind visitors to the city's social etiquette. It is a welcoming and tolerant place but you should be respectful of dress codes, especially on the beaches, and not eat or drink in public during Ramadan.
