The site of the Shrine of Our Lady of Martyrs was once a 17th century Mohawk village called Ossernenon where three Jesuit missionaries were martyred during the 1640s.Today the Shrine is comprised of 400+ acres of flowered landscapes and tree-studded slopes and lawns. Five chapels, two museums, a candle shrine, Jesuit cemetery, outdoor Stations of the Cross and Visitor Center and Gift Shop provide places for Mass and prayer, private devotions and reflections, and education and enjoyment.

The lake holds the New York State record for Northern Pike, caught here in 1940, and its 115 miles of shoreline offer plenty of room to explore. Twenty miles from the hotel, it is an easy day trip for guests who want to get out on the water. Boat launches and access points are scattered around the lake for visitors.

Deep underground, limestone passages formed over millions of years await your exploration at this natural attraction. Thirty miles from the hotel, the cave invites visitors to descend 156 feet below the surface for a guided tour. The experience includes a 1.25-mile walk and a 0.25-mile boat ride through the underground passages. The cave maintains a constant 52 degrees year-round, making it a cool escape on a hot summer day.
