Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Loved my stay! Our stay at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites in Wausau-Rothschild was excellent. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bedding was excellent and the bathroom was clean. I forgot a toothbrush, but the front desk staff brought one to me immediately. May 9, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Would retrun A very nice place. Was there for business, a conference. The only issue was breakfast. As part of the conference set up, we were to have breakfast in a side room. But, there was only one waitress on staff at the time and she asked us to use the main dining room which we did without a problem. She did a great job with our group of 10 plus the other 10-15 patrons in the restaurant. We did have to ask for our bill so we could get to our meetings. May 3, 2016

We stayed here for an event at UW Stevens Point. Everything was fine until the morning we went to leave. My 11 year old daughter was getting breakfast when she went to get hot water for some hot chocolate and hit the wrong thing. Hot water started pouring all over. It wasn't a huge mess, but there was a mess that needed to be cleaned up. With a lot of complaining, the hostess worked on cleaning up the mess my daughter made. My daughter was in tears because she felt bad about her mistake, and she burned her hand a little bit. The hostess did not ask about the well being of my daughter at all. Instead, she walked to the back room and yelled "People are so dumb". I proceeded to follow her to the back. I confronted her by asking if she just called my daughter dumb. She turned to me and told me people need to watch their kids. I'm not sure if she was implying that I was a bad parent or if my daughter was incompetent, but either way she tried covering her comment by saying my daughter was older and she was referring to unsupervised little kids who make messes. After talking to the Assistant General Manager, I was offered more rewards points as compensation for the inappropriate attitude of the employee. I asked for a financial comp, but the Assistant General Manager told me the General Manager would not comp any of my room costs. It's unfortunate because I do not typically stay at Holiday Inn hotels; therefore, my points will likely expire basically resulting in no compensation for my daughter being called dumb by the employee...........I ask myself, what if I wasn't a rewards member. Would I have received any compensation? May 2, 2016
