Crystal River Archeological Park

A National Historic Landmark, this 61 acre, pre-Columbian, Native american site has burial mounds, temple/platform mounds, a plaza area and a substantial midden. The six-mound complex is one of the longest continuously occupied sites in Florida. For 1,600 years the site served as an imposing ceremonial center for Native Americans. Elvis Follow that Dream

Follow That Dream is a 1962 musical film starring Elvis Presley. The movie was based on the 1959 novel Pioneer, Go Home! by Richard P. Powell. It was filmed in Citrus and Levy Counties, Florida. Yankeetown memorializes his stay in the form of their major highway, Follow That Dream Parkway. This parkway was named due to the efforts of four Elvis fans. The Dream Team they were called. The dedication and celebration is held in Crystal River every year, Florida. Open to the public.

Homosassa Arts & Crafts Festival

Rainbow Springs State Park

Rainbow Springs and Rainbow River, Florida's 4th largest spring. The Rainbow River is popular for swimming, snorkeling, canoeing, kayaking, site seeing, and picnicing. Tubers can launch on SW 180th Ave Rd. The park entrance is located 3 miles north of Dunnellon on the east side of US 41. The campground is located on S.W. 180th Avenue Road about two miles north of CR 484 and 2 miles south of SR 40. The Tube Entrance is located 1.4 miles south of the campground Entrance on SW 180th Ave Rd.

Withlacoochee State Trail

At 46 miles in length, the Withlacoochee State Trail is the longest paved trail in Florida. The trail corridor runs through small towns, ranches, and natural areas. The trail traverses a region that offers many other recreational opportunities. Among the recreational highlights nearby are the unpaved trails in the Croom area of the Withlacoochee State Forest which features fascinating caves to explore, and Fort Cooper State Park. The Withlacoochee State Trail is a biker's paradise.

River (fishing/ boating)

The Withlacoochee River originates in central Florida's Green Swamp, east of Polk City. The river is 86 miles long and has a drainage basin of 1,170 sq miles. Along its route are the 46 mile long Withlacoochee State Trail, the longest paved rail trail in Florida, and the Cypress Lake Preserve, a 324 acre park with approximately 600' of frontage and Nobleton Wayside Park, a 2 acre park at 29061 Lamkin Dr, Nobleton, Florida that includes a boat ramp, shelter, basketball court, and picnic tables.

Citrus County Speedway

The Citrus County Speedway is a local "must see". Everyone in the area has been to the speedway at least once to see the sparks flying and the tires screaming as the racers take the corners at speeds that most of us only dream of going. It is a cannot miss Saturday night event. As their logo states it is "The Friendliest Track in the South!"

Citrus County Art League & Gallery

The Art Center of Citrus County is dedicated to providing opportunities for cultural enrichment. The Art Center Theatre annually presents a 5-play season. The 200-seat theater is equipped with professional lighting and sound. The theater offers a summer musical in July and a winter musical in February as fund raisers. A major attraction within the building is our selling gallery.
