Logroño, the capital of La Rioja, is a human-sized city and its 150 thousand inhabitants will make your stop worth your while. The downtown area is vibrant with plenty of tapas, bars and restaurants. We recommend you visit Calle Laurel, after having sighted the many historical traces of the past, including the co-cathedral of Santa María de la Redonda, the San Bartolomé church, and the Arch and walls of Revelín, leftovers of the fortifications of the city from the XV century.
This destination is at a crossroads, including the ones coming from France over the Pyrenees, synonymous with the pilgrimage route to Compostela. Logroño has kept its traditions of hosting many passersby, and is well connected should you come walking, biking, roads, trains and even by air!
