You must check out Purgatory Creek for nature walks and hikes to take a view of the gorgeous city of San Marcos. Take a back road and discover the Texas Hill Country heading towards Wimberly, Texas. Float the San Marcos or Guadalupe river with friends and family to relax.

While you are in town visit some of San Marcos’ top attractions. Discover the downtown Square area with its unique shops, restaurants and lounges. Explore Spring Lake in a glass bottom boat at Aquarena Center, Wonder World Park or some classic cars at Dick’s Classic Garage. Enjoy a relaxing float down the San Marcos River, or spend the day shopping the San Marcos Premium and Tanger Outlets.

SXSW and ACL in Austin is only a 30 minute drive going north. Circuit of the Americas for Formula F1 races and other Gran Turismo races is also a 30 minute drive going northeast. Always bring an umbrella with you with the crazy Texas weather. Visit the Alamo in San Antonio which is a 30 minute drive going south.
