Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve
Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is the home of our nation's rarest pine tree - Pinus torreyana. Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is a day-use park/beach only; no overnight camping facility or place to purchase food or beverages. Picnics are permitted on the beach only. No food/drinks (other than water) are permitted in Reserve. Hikers are advised to bring & carry drinking water on the trails - especially in the summertime. Park opens at 8 am and closes at dusk.
Del Mar Race Track

Del Mar Racetrack is an American Thoroughbred horse racing track at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in the seaside city of Del Mar, California, 20 miles north of San Diego. Operated by the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, it is known for the slogan: "Where The Turf Meets The Surf." A qualifying track for the Kentucky Derby, the Del Mar Race Track is home to magnificent grounds and panoramic vistas of the Pacific Ocean.

In 1880, a group of San Diegans organized an agricultural fair bringing county farmers together. After that first fair, the county fair was held annually with a few exceptions in various county locations until 1936, when it moved to its present Del Mar home. During World War II, the Fair was suspended, but has taken place in Del Mar annually since 1946. 2011 marked the 75th anniversary of the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The Fair generally runs from early June through July 4th, annually.

Dog Beach
North Beach, affectionately called “Dog Beach” by dog owners, is located north of 29th Street and stretches nearly one half mile to our border with Solana Beach. The area includes the mouth of the San Dieguito River and a stretch of coastal bluff. While laws restrict off-leash access during specific hours between June 16 and Labor Day, North Beach remains open to dogs; however, dogs must be restricted to a six foot leash.
