Good points Hotel in a very convenient location next to the subway, a short walk / jog from Prospect Park and with plenty of food and drinking options in the area. Staff were really helpful and pleasant. Internet access was pretty good and reliable Rooms were clean and in good condition Minor gripes - No fitness room on site - though they do have a deal with a local gym Rooms are very clean and in good condition but very small - difficult to lay a suitcase out and getting in and out of the bathroom involved manoeuvring around the toilet and the door!! No guest laundry - though I'm sure there would have been a laundromat in the area Had asked for a quiet room but was next to possibly the worlds noisiest ice machine - sounded like a jet taking off after anyone took ice!! Overall Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a basic option to base themselves while exploring NYC, wether on business or leisure, and the price at the time I was there was extremely good value for the standard of the hotel. 24 February 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A brief stay. My wife and I have stayed at the Brooklyn Holiday Inn Express on Union Street many times while visiting family. We always find a well kept and run facility with a friendly staff. We book through the Holiday Inn web site and feel that we receive good value for our money which is hard to find in the NYC area. Our only complaint is that the elevator tends to be slow but that is made up for by the attitude of the staff. 19 February 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Low cost option, but extremely poor for business purposes This is a low cost option in Brooklyn, which is hard to come by. That said, I will probably not stay here for the following reasons: I stayed here for three nights. My room was not cleaned during my entire stay. The facility was in poor condition. The window in my first room rattled so much in the wind that I needed to move rooms. The bathtub drain also wouldn't open, leading to a filled tub (which I thought would be fixed by the cleaning service, but as noted above, that didn't happen). The coffee is horrible. I wasn't expecting gourmet, but it was undrinkable. While this is a small detail, it matters when you travel for business and have little time to go out and look for things. The room had poor access to outlets, which is concerning for a business traveler. There is no fitness center. That's not the fault of the hotel, but it was slightly annoying (I know - I could have seen that if I looked hard enough at the details when booking, but I've come to expect that from Holiday Inn Express). On the plus side, staff were generally courteous, there is free internet, which worked fine, and as noted, this is a cheap option in a decent part of Brooklyn. Still, I will be looking for other options next time I come down, even if they cost a bit more. 05 February 2015
