Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exemplary Staff Service Four day conference and seldom left the hotel. One night, I was unable to replace a bandage over stitches on my back and had trouble sleeping. At 4:00 a.m., I went to the lobby and a reservations clerk willingly applied a bandage to my back! Never had any problem with the hotel room, services, or facilities and would gladly stay here, again. August 22, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great conference experience but hotel needs renovation I spent two nights at the Hotel Intercontinental Dallas (Addison) during the Fellowship of Presbyterians/ECO joint national gathering. Here are my thoughts of my stay here: I was very pleased with several aspects. First, I found the service staff, whether at the front desk, restaurant, or otherwise, to be uniformly courteous, professional, and friendly. They are also highly competent at handling a large convention! There was a fellowship meal as part of the gathering, with over 1,000 diners (!!!). I was very impressed with the efficiency of the staff and the quality of the food for such a large number of people. There main ballroom was fine for our worship and major conference presentations, and obviously the staff did very well in keeping things clean there and in the many meeting rooms we needed. I also enjoyed the hotel dining. I ate twice in the Q de Cheval for dinner and appreciated the all-inclusive buffets ... Mexican themed one night (decent) and BBQ themed the next night (very good). The price for the food, tax, tip and soft drink was $20, a good value. I was also pleasantly surprised that on Weds morning, when I decided to splurge on the breakfast buffet, the price was discounted to $15 all-inclusive (it normally is an off-putting $22). And the buffet had smoked salmon, along with other breakfast meats, eggs, pancakes, breads, sweet pastries, fruits, cereal, etc) I appreciated the hotel giving all conference guests free internet access (normally there is a fee for this). But there were a few things that need improvement. While the service was very good altogether, it seemed hard to get across to the reservation office that I was going to have a roommate. Despite two notifications, his name was not on the reservation. Fortunately he was allowed to check in anyway before I arrived. The room itself (#409) was comfortable enough, and I slept well, but it needs better maintenance. In the bathroom, some of the wallpaper was discolored; the bottom of the toilet seat was noticeably stained; and there was rust around in the bathtub drain and considerable discoloring where the tub met the shower wall. In the room itself, my bed's leatherette headboard was torn, and some of the wallpaper was peeling from the wall. The desk and matching chair were notably scuffed and chipped. This gave the room a rundown and shabby appearance that was frankly shocking given the reputation of this hotel. I also wish there had been a microwave provided. Other hotels of similar (and in fact lesser!) status provide these. A mini-fridge would have been nice too ... without having to rent one as is the practice at the Intercontinental. Again, comparable and less prestigious hotels often provide these. Speaking of maintenance ... at one point part of a ceiling tile crumbled and fell to the floor near the exhibit tables. That did not make a positive impression. I am glad I stayed at the Intercontinental as part of this conference. But honestly, if I were traveling individually (and had to pay the normal room rate), I would probably look elsewhere as a first choice. August 21, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not an experience I would like to repeat I would not recommend this hotel. They have poor internet service in the rooms. The weekend I stayed the TV in the rooms were not working and the air conditioning was malfunctioning. I was also surprised by the lack of caring by the check out clerk to our issues with the room. I have had better experiences at 3 star hotels and wonder how they got such a high rating August 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel, but Work was a challenge I enjoyed staying at this hotel. The rooms were nice and spacious, the food was good, the employees were great. There were only two negatives that they could improve on. First was the internet bandwidth. Internet access was included with my room package, but it was so incredibly slow I ended up using my hotspot on my phone instead. When I say slow, I mean I could click on something, go make myself a cup of coffee and come back and the page still hadn't loaded. The hotel was FULL of entrepreneurs, all of whom need to be on the internet before and after the conference. They needed to seriously increase the bandwidth capabilities for the duration of the conference. I talked to their tech support the first morning and he did something to make it better, but every day and evening after that, it was impossible to use and get any work done. If I had had to pay extra for this, I would have been demanding a refund. The second thing was there was a nice coffee shop but the primary food choice was flour and sugar. They did have fruit and sandwiches, but no protein for breakfast. It would have been great to be able to get a quick egg, meat, and cheese sandwich of some type there. But the only way to get protein in the morning was to go out or to the restaurant. August 14, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rooms on the 4th Floor I had one of the unlucky rooms on the 4th floor. There was an interior window, so may as well not have a window at all. It was very dark during the day and we had to have all the lights on and they weren't very bright so it just felt closed in. I hated going to the room during the day. I would go to other women's rooms and it just reminded me how bad ours was. And there were other women in the same situation. Also the fact that we had to pay the same as the rooms with a real window. Seemed very unfair. And, I had to go down to the lobby 3 times because my keys didn't work. And no, they were not near my phone. August 13, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Major problems with central reservations! Central reservations has major problems getting reservations correct and lacks knowledge of states laws regarding roll-away beds. After calling to inquire about a roll-away and getting confirmation that it was possible to have this in Dallas, TX, I confirmed (twice) that there would be three people in the room, and gave the names of each person. When the third person added to the reservation arrived first, her name was not on the reservation and she was not allowed to access the room. A VERY long story short, after 2 long conversations with a front desk manager, acceptable solution as offered. Several others in the same large conference group also complained of problems with their reservation that surfaced after they arrived. The room was very comfortable, but the meeting rooms were like ice boxes. Service in the lobby restaurant area was horrible; some of us ended up walking a short distance to Whole Foods for lunch before heading back to the airport. August 13, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth the price Generally expensive and not a whole lot of benefit for the price. My main issue is with the poor workout facility and overpriced breakfast. The room was beautiful and well-maintained, but considering that I could pay almost half as much for a similar room with free breakfast elswhere then it's obviously not worth it. July 29, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pageant Weekend This was our first time staying with InterContinental Hotel. We enjoyed our stay and meeting new friends. It was great that the pool was open late and it also had great music playing outside. The hotel appearance would make any little girl feel like they were in a castle. The front desk staff was polite and so was the ladies that kept our room nice and clean. I would recommend staying again at this hotel. Thank you! July 24, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by quality of stay The room was very hot and told staff every day on night third they came to fix it and it still was still hot. The cost is not worth my stay I had. The staff not very helpful and I have stayed at eight other hotels this summer already and this one was the worse and cost the most per night by at least 30 dollar a day. The elevators were super slow and did work very well. I'm a reward members and this not a very friendly place to stay. July 20, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by No hot water Very disappointed with this stay. Luke warm water for showers. As an ambassador member I did not the fruit and chocolates. Bed was not turned down and no ice was left in the room. I was also supposed to get one free movie and it was charged to my room. Had to go to front desk to get it removed. I try and stay at this hotel only trips to Dallas but not sure I will stay here again. July 20, 2014

I was disappointed in the fitness room in that several of the treadmills were out of order or did not work properly. I currently have plans to be back for a future meeting. Could these be repaired or replaced before hand as utilizing a fitness center is a key reason for the hotels I choose to stay during my trips. July 20, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Need a few adjustments Toilet in the room we stayed in 1235 needed to be reseated - it was loose and room had faint sewerage smell - toilet might need new wax ring as well. During the closing pageant of jr preteen (sat night) the ladies restrooms were closed on the ballroom level. Closest restrooms we were told were down a level near exit on end by pool. That was Poor planning or lack of goid judgment to close restrooms during that time. Should have waited another hour until after the pageant ended and your crowd had left. July 19, 2014

This hotel is off of the Dallas Parkway (just off Dallas North Toll), it is within a short driving distance to several places: approximately seven minutes from the Galleria, fifteen minutes from North Park Mall, and twenty-five minutes from DFW, if that. The hotel food is delicious. If you need assistance or questions the staff is very efficient and willing to help you; the entire staff are very respectful and professional. Our television was not coming up from the cabinet, we called guest services and they had a technician in our room within five minutes. Our room was quiet and comfortable with great A/C and lots of hot water for the shower. We did not have any negative experiences at this hotel. For the price, size, comfort, and location this is an ideal hotel to stay for leisure or business. I highly recommend it. July 19, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by reservation definition It was a rough start to a busy weekend. My daughter and I were there for the NAM pageant. When we arrived on Saturday around noon I wasn't sure if there was valet parking. We waited to be served and I actually stood by the podium but was never addressed. My daughter and I parked and went in to check in. Upon check in we were given a room with a king bed. I told the desk that I had reserved a room on their website specifically with 2 beds. I was told we reserved a certain kind of room and I would be given what was available in that class of room even though I had reserved a room with 2 beds. I had also requested a corner room and early check in. I assumed that if I requested a corner room I would get one - otherwise why would it even be offered as an option with the reservation. SO no big deal on corner room but really, don't offer it if you can't deliver. Again -BUT REALLY to be given "what was available" defies the definition of reservation. No? The weekend did get better. Room service was awesome. Thank you Yolanda. Just a little surprised by the first few hours of our experience at the Intercontinental Dallas - expected more. July 19, 2014

During this time we had to make frequent visits to the room to change or get things for the pageant and due to the high volume of people, getting to our rooms and back to the event were very stressful. Didn't appear enough elavators were working or they were extremely slow. Of course it may have just been the event going on. I would certainly visit again in the future. July 17, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room The room wasn't ready for check in at 3:00 pm as stated on the website. The guest service couldn't give a accurate time as when the room would be ready. The bathroom in our room especially around the toilet had stains from the previous customers. Our bed was uncomfortable and the feathers were poking us throughout our sleep. They used flat sheets instead of fitted sheets in the bed so,when we woke up in the morning the bed was always a mess. The elevator was very slow!!! They charges per night on the room were over priced for the poor quality of our stay. July 17, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Outdated in Addison Bathroom surprisingly outdated. Shower featured old shower head with irregular spray. Dim lighting for shower. Sink drainage poor. Stained towel provided as new during room service. Gym was too warm and humid with only 3 people using facility. Rooms have only fair soundproofing with all sounds from the hallway seemingly amplified through the main door. July 17, 2014
