Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 503 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff, good location, small room The hotel is located centrally at a very good location along the Main river, many restaurants are in walking distance. Hotel staff is very friendly, however the extra mile in customer care is missing in comparison to other Intercontinental hotels. As Platin Ambassador complementary room upgrade and fresh fruits in the room are standard in all other IHG hotels, not so in this hotel. The room was small and the bathroom really tiny. Overall experience was a bit disappointing in comparison to other IHG hotels. August 24, 2015
    Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dated style - poor rewards recognition I travel a lot for work. This review is based on several stays at this particular Intercontinental hotel. I usually dont write hotel reviews, but I was so frustrated this time that I decided to write this review. The intercontinental left me unsatisfied because of - poor room "upgrades": the room was identical to the basic rooms. The only "upgrade" was that the room was at a higher floor (which supposedly results in a better scenic view). - the upgraded room did not include lounge access. They tried to upsell me to a "lounge package" for euro 50 extra. - the complimentary "free" internet that IHG members are supposed to receive is poor. Sometimes I have no signal for several minutes" and bandwith is not even enough for email. They offer to purchase "premium" internet access at 20 Euro per night. Most econoomy hotels provide better internet for free, than this IHGs flagship brand. - The style of the rooms is dated. The furniture shows wear and tear. - Some (not all) of the staff is inpolite and unflexible in a snobby discriminatory way. I definitely receive better treatment and flexibility when Im in my work dress (suit and tie) than when I changed to jeans and t-shirt in the evening/weekend. I recommend the "Holiday Inn Alte Oper" as a better IHG alternative. This is just 5 min away, the staff is polite, flexible and helpful and the internet works most of the time because they provide free unlimited "premium" internet to their rewards members.
