When exchanging business cards, hold out your card using both hands, with your name facing towards the person to whom you are giving the card. You should also receive a business card with both hands. Business cards are considered very important, especially when conducting business in Hong Kong.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location for Hong Kong Business, with a view. I come to Hong Kong for business and often the parties I talk to suggest that I stay on the Island rather than the TST area where the Intercontinental Hong Kong is located. I tell them that this is a better location to get to meetings in either Wan Chi, Central, or the Admiralty areas. And at the end of the day, the view is beautiful, the breeze through the harbor is wonderful, and the TST area is more relaxed. When staying at the Intercontinental Hong Kong, rather than take a taxi to downtown, the faster, cheaper and better option is to take the subway system that you are able to access at rouhgly 75 meters from the Hotel Lobby entrance at the street curb. Using the subway, its one stop, a transfer and two stops to Wan Chi, or to Central, simply stay on the original train and go 2 stops. Only 14 times cheaper than a taxi, and 10 to 15 minutes versus 45 to 50 minutes in a cab. If you stayed in Wan Chi, the Admiralty area or Central, a taxi would still be required. On days that aren't as hot, a 10 minute walk gets you to the Star Ferry. The Star Ferry will take you to either Wan Chi or Central, and its a lot cheaper than the subway. At the end of the busy day, enjoy the view (see picture), the wonderful amenities and staff of the Intercontinental Club lounge and relax without conditions on your time. Or hit the wonderful pool with the outside bar and relaxing atmosphere. Starting the next morning, get up early and hit the gym. In all my travels I would say it's my favorite gym, or at least top 2. Great staff, great people, I'll be back. 29 July 2014
