Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stress-busting businessb stay I had the great pleasure to stay at the Intercontinental, Jakarta Mid-Plaza for 5 nights recently and use two meeting rooms for training on 3 days whilst there. Amidst the rush of traffic and hurried lifestyle of Jakarta the hotel is a haven of high standards, professionalism and friendliness. I travel regularly and rarely spend a week without at least one hotel stop and Mid-Plaza is amongst my top ten hotels in the world and my favourite in Asia. It stands up against any of the great 5* hotels. The staff are exceptionally attentive, as you would expect from a quality hotel, but they add a unique ability to make you feel genuinely welcome and at home. From reception, room service , the restaurants and spa, everyone goes that extra mile to make you feel special and it never seems false. It makes for a special experience and relaxing stay. This was my second stay and I am now convinced it must reflect a strategy imposed by IHG and a passion to deliver it by the hotel management. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, would recommend it for business travellers and will use it next time I am in the area - without reservation. 13 November 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Staying at Intercontinental Jakarta, Midplaza Certainly staying at Intercontinental Jakarta Midplaza was an overwhelming experience. The hotel is dreadfully well organized, well maintained, and they are having a magnificent lounge and you will be comfortable at all times. The hotel staffs were very cooperative and they used to provide all the necessities of their clients in their most outstanding approach. Basically, these are the main reasons why i used to stay in Intercontinental Jakarta, Midplaza rather than other IHG Brands in Jakarta during my trip. 10 November 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and clean room Staffs were fast to attend to us when we checked in and needed help to book taxis out to shopping places. We were too early for check in and waited about 50mins for room. Staffs were friendly and all smiles to guests. Hotel security is strict which is a plus point. (Security checkpoints at hotels and shopping malls are a common sight). Got room on level 6. area is quiet and clean. Room was clean and comfy. Most important TV channels are more than a 5 star hotel we recently stayed in KL. Best and safest to take cabs out to shopping centers, not expensive and quite fast. Will definitely stay here again if we go Jakarta. 25 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A bright star in Jakarta Dear Interconti Jakarta, it was our second stay in your hotel and my wife and myself were completely happy with our choise. Thank you. The rooms clean and in full function, the hotel staff are friendly and always helpful. The connnection to the airport is ok and there is always a silver bird taxi in front of the hotel. We didnt have any time to use the SPA area, but the interior looks great! Hopefully we can stay there again. In the dark Jakarta hotel area your hotel is really one of the stars in the city. By the time we checked in, we were hungry so we asked the front desk staff where we could go for food. He suggested us not to go out at night due to the safety issue around the area. We asked him he has phone number for Mac Donald near by and if we could order MCD in our room. He said the operator would help us to connect. We tried the operator, and i guess he doesn't speak very much English, so we thought we ordered MCD and we confirmed so many times if it's Mac Donald. However, when the food came, it's room service food, that was done by hotel chef. WE DID NOT ORDER ROOM SERVICE! This Mac donald chicken nuggets were the most expensive fried food we've ever had! Please hire or educate your staff so that they can at least communicate and service the guests in the right way. 23 October 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Previous Stays When checked in no one was there to help with the bags although there were 3 at the entrance. And no one was there to help me get a cab (had to do it myself) and carry my bags into the boot.... not sure if its because it was a nice Saturday morning Front desk told me the wrong room on check-in and did not write it in on the card folder and they forgot to return my passport only when i reminded them 22 October 2013

I should get that the phone line is very noisy and make call impossible. Yet I still has to pay for additional charges for using the line when my flight time change, I cannot log in to change my bookings. So the online booking make the experience worst, rather than better 21 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Jakarta Hotel The MidPlaza Intercontinental is a very nice hotel, the location is good, it is well managed and the physical facilities are properly maintained and in good working order which is almost rare in Jakarta. The gym is available 24 hours and the machines generally all work, and there are just about enough treadmills. The inhouse restaurants are fine, the buffet has a wide selection and the fancy Italian (SCUSA) is excellent and a rare place to find good quality beefsteak prepared properly. I have stayed here for months at a time and all in all I recomend it highly, you can do much much worse at more expensive hotels in Jakarta. 15 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Experience This was a very positive experience. My first night I had concerns when my water in my room was dark brown in the bath tub and shower. I ran the water for some time but it did not improve. The engineer came and resolved the problem. No problem after that. I also have a special request regarding double sheets (top and bottom) instead of just the duvet. This request was honored and mantained duing the entire stay. Thank you. 07 October 2013

I can recommend the Hotel highly - great staff, wonderful rooms, great services & the Scusa restaurant is top class. As an IHG Rewards Club member I obtained a number of specific rewards from the Hotel which enhanced my visit to Jakarta. 16 September 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel but be careful if you pre-pay I had pre-paid my room and at check out, the hotel tried to charge me around another 25 USD per night and gave me the reason that there was a different exchange rate from the time of booking to departure. Surely the reason of pre-paying is to get a lower confirmed price? This happened to me on two occasions but it is not clear on the bill as local taxes are split out and if you have charged items to your room, it can be confusing. Staff at checkout did not point this out to me and when I questioned it, they had to call their manager for approval to remove this. I feel cheated and not what I would expect from a chain hotel. 03 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great service and relaxing stay This is my first time staying with Intercontinental Hotel, and it was a memorable stay. Although it was a hectic working trip, I find the warmth environment and courteous staffs never failed to lift up my spirits when I am completely drained. The massage at the SPA Intercontinental was a pleasant experience and a nice way to end my working trip to Jakarta. It recharged me to take on the business appointments when I am back at my home country. 02 September 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A Little Improvement Would Be Nice I have been a very loyal IHG customer for the past several years especially Intercontinental Jakarta hotel. However there are 3 things now that bothers me now: 1. The Java Restaurant, eventhough newly furnished and so on, now serves less appetizing meals compared to before the renovation and yes the renovation took ages to complete. 2. The Gym is good, opens 24 hours, however adding several new weight machine or dumbells wont hurt anyone. e.g machine biceps curls/ triceps curl, etc. 3. With the new IHG Point and Rewards, i.e the Free Wi-Fi for all rooms, i see no distinction in Platinum Elite membership rewards between the Deluxe type Room with the Premier Type Room. Customer loveeesss given free bits and pieces. All the best for the improvement and regards 29 August 2013

Great room , good food at the Japanese restaurant at the basement and very helpful staff makes the life of a business traveller easy. No wonder I'm looking towards returning to Intercontinental Jakarta again. 25 August 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Young, Short Lady Receptionist - Bad Service Dear Quality Manager Having just experiencing the stay at Intercontinental O.R. Tambo Airport at South Africa, I had a little displeasure but overall, is still alright. Then, when I came to Intercontinental Jakarta, I had very bad experience when I checked in with my father, the lady receptionist did not serve us genuinely and when we went up to our room, discovered that she had assigned the wrong room with a King bed. I had booked for twin-bed room, so we had to change room moving up and down when we were already hungry that evening. I believe she presumed that just because we are a man and a lady team so she assumed that we are a couple but lied about being father and daughter, that was why she did not check our booking and gave us a King Bed instead! She should serve all guests equal as she is in the service line. Perhaps her personal judgement caused me the bad service, that is being unprofessional. Then, the new room key cannot work and we had to go down again. What service is this? Unfortunately, I do not have the name of the young shorter lady around 25 years of age, on that night of check-in. Another lady with her is rather new. You would be able to trace who were on duty at the evening of our check-in. Also, no one contacted me about our airport transfer, even though I have booked for that package. In the end, I had to initiate the call from South Africa to assure the airport transfer. This time my father would be heading back again in September due to the Chinese restaurant in MidPlaza, I hope for better service this time. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Superb Service and Excellent sleep quality Room and Bathroom sizes are really good and staff is really accommodative and friendly. They will take care of your needs with utmost efficiency. Except for microwave oven, I do not find anything missing in my room. Be it iron & ironing board or be it express shoeshine facility, everything in house. As for food is concerned, since I am a pure vegetarian, I do not find dinner buffet catering to my need. Staff was prompt in analyzing my need and responded immediately and Chef cooked me special vegetarian dishes with good homely taste. Spa facility is really good. 26 July 2013
