We stand with our Black Community in the fight for justice and equality

In addition to creating our Diversity & Inclusion Boards in 2018, IHG has encouraged our colleagues' drive to advance equality for ALL. Whether it's by supporting organizations fighting for social justice or through volunteering with groups such as Atlanta CareerRise and Westside Future Fund, we recognize that actions speak louder than words, and we all need to rise to this moment.

We have made an IHG commitment to:

  • Double the representation of ethnically diverse colleagues in Americas-based corporate leadership roles over the next four years

  • Paid day of leave for US corporate colleagues to vote in national elections; additional floating paid holiday to observe cultural and religious events or for other personal use

  • Support education, employability, and empowerment in the community through partnerships with the National Urban League and National Center for Civil and Human Rights

  • Offer IHG® Rewards Club members the opportunity to donate loyalty points to support US partners that promote racial justice and equity

Our Partners

To continue building on our culture of Diversity & Inclusion, we’ve partnered with several organizations to advance equality for all, both in our backyard in Atlanta and the local communities in which we operate around the U.S.

What you can do

Whether it’s through the power of the ballot, or the strength of protest, we can all answer the call to action.

Civic duty icon

Exercise your civic duty

One of the most powerful things you can do is to show up at the polls and cast your votes. Research the races and issues in your local elections and make informed decisions about who your leaders should be.

> Research candidates

Protest icon

You have a right to protest peacefully

History has shown that public protests are critical to the success of movements like civil rights, women’s equality, and LBGTQ+ rights. If you can’t get to the streets, make a stand online by signing a petition and adding your name to the list of those who will not stand for racial injustice.

Census duty icon

Be counted in Census 2020

Make sure you and your community are counted in the 2020 Census. From school lunches to highways, the census helps determine the resources that come to your community.

Volunteer your time

Helping to drive education and employment opportunities for marginalized communities is a powerful way to help drive change. Find an organization where you can sign up to be a mentor, help a refugee with a job search, or volunteer at an after-school program. Here are just some of the great organizations out there to help you get started.
