The hotel lived up to the ratings with excellent rooms, superb ding and friendly helpful staff.
The bedrooms are well laid out, beautifully clean and well maintained. The restaurant is excellent with good quality food and a wide variety of selection at breakfast and the dinner buffet service. We experienced two BBQ evenings and the quality of food was superb, especially the fish. I would like to mention Kevin and Isalinda in the restaurant for their friendly and most helpful attention.
The shortage of poolside sun beds has been well documented and for many remains the only downside for this hotel. This could be easily remedied by replacing the bean bags on the grass area with beds. If you are an early riser like me this was not a problem!

As a Platinum Member I decided to use some on my Points to have a Break in Portugal.
Lovely Hotel in a great location for the town and the beach.
Very nice room and loved the quirky glass walls in the shower. View from the balcony was fabulous, however only one seat supplied on the balcony (had to take it in turns to sit down).
Confused that a Coffee machine was supplied, however no cups and no Complimentary Coffee etc.
We were Bed & Breakfast and would say that it was excellent with plenty of choice, found the staff to be pleasant and helpful (a few attempted words of Portuguese made all the difference).
As many visitors to this hotel have mentioned, the Sunbeds at the pool are a bit of a nuisance, but the Management have a system of removing towels, which the boys at the pool try to manage to the best of their ability. This was alleviated towards the end of the week when 100 new beds were laid out on the grassed area beside the "Fat Boys" which allowed more people to make use of that area.
One point that may sound a bit off, we have stayed in a number of 5 star hotels in different countries and it was obvious that this Hotel does not have a dress code.
Generally where we have stayed, adults passing through the bar / reception areas from the pool covered up. Not here however as large, overweight, oiled bodies could regularly be found passing through these areas and even standing at the bar drinking.
Not particularly pleasant coming down dressed for a pre dinner cocktail to find the lounge filled with half naked guests with no respect for themselves, the location or the other guests.
This does not promote a feeling of a top class hotel, more a cheap package holiday venue.
We therefore decided not stay and dine in the hotel but went out into Villamoura where at least the people were fully clothed.
There are many nice Restaurants in the area which have a dress code.
