Overnight stay prior to cruise departure......usual high standard re: all aspects of a Holiday Inn location. Taxi to the ship and subsequent return two weeks later worked without a hitch...staff very much on top of this particular service.

Far from the anticipated high quality and comfortable stay expected of the Holiday Inn brand, Eastleigh turned out to be a total disappointment. With the exception of the accommodation, which was very much as expected, the rest of the experience was dismal. We had to pursue the bar staff to get service on arrival after driving 180 miles and we were disappointed with the offerings of the restaurant. We went into Eastleigh to find something to eat in the evening. The breakfast was the most dismal affair, overcooked and case-hardened eggs, cardboard bacon and even when asked to provide fresh sunnyside-up eggs we were given more of the same. Day 2 breakfast was just as bad, no side plates for toast, waited ages for pot of tea.
It was a first, and probably only, visit to Eastleigh. We have had much better experience with Holiday Inn Express in Southampton and in local pubs. Pity they were all full when we needed them.

It has everything you need to make your stay pleasant, with friendly attentive staff.

A clean and friendly hotel. The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful. The room was good with the option for feather pillows. Taxi service to and from airport was excellent and well organised. There was a shortage of parking at the hotel and it was difficult to find a space so they maybe booking too many airport spaces but it worked out fine in the end. The leisure facilities are a bit tired and could do with a refresh but the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a good stay.

Breakfast was adequate at best, although quantity, though fair, was overcooked and lukewarm: Quantity does not outweigh quality!
Dinner menu uninspiring and expensive compared to other facilities in the immediate area.
Expensive compared to other, equally comfortable offerings in the immediate area.
Business/course room overly hot and humid, small for size of course.

Stay was generally good except for breakfast. Hot breakfast food was only just warm. Is it Holiday Inn policy to serve just warm bacon, sausage, mushroom, baked beans and eggs?
This problem needs to be addressed by HI Head Office . . .
