Stayed in Room 211. Upon check-in, we noticed that the comforter was dirty and we had to call twice to have it changed because at least one hour had passed before anyone came. The bed skirt was visibly torn on the sides of the bed. One of the side lights was burnt out in the bathroom making it really dim. When we returned to our room from an event that evening and asked for fresh towels, we were told that the manager locks them up after 3 pm. We asked for towels the next morning and were told that they were all out due to them being washed. On Saturday, the breakfast was great and service was great. We had Emily as our waitress. On Sunday, the breakfast was horrible and again Emily was our waitress. I guess that we came around the rush time so there were no plates and no clear tables. We had to request this in order to get a plate or a place to sit. Once we sat, it was a while before anyone came to serve us. We had to ask for utensils. We were given a fork and told, "I'm sorry, this is the best that I can do." and "I'm sorry but I can only give you a half glass of Cranberry juice right now". We had to ask the dishwasher who was passing through for a spoon and a knife. He only brought one of each. Then we had to ask the other waitress for napkins. We received a stack of paper napkins- not the cloth napkin that comes with the silverware that we sporadically received. We had coffee but no cream. Once things settled down, we saw Emily go from table to table apologizing to guests, bringing them full sets of silverware, full glasses of juice, creamer, etc. She finally came back to our table once we were about to leave. She asked if everything was OK, and we told her that it wasn't ok. She never once came back to check on us for anything, she never once apologized to us as she did the other customers BUT during this whole ordeal, we sat quietly and motioned for whatever waitstaff we could to help us. We never gave attitude and we never complained. However, it was the worse experience especially since it was the polar opposite of what had occurred the day before. I completely lost my appetite and didn't even bother finishing my food. Yet, all in all, I still left a $2.00 tip. My mind told me that I should not reward poor service; however, my heart still felt compelled to leave a tip because that was the purpose of me bringing the money down and frankly, I was taught better. Even though I walked away feeling mistreated, instead of being mean and spiteful, I took that as an opportunity to show kindness and goodwill towards a person who had not treated me so kind at all. I will never forget the poor experience and bad service that I received from the Holiday Day Inn Augusta West I-20. I hope that no future guests who spend their hard earned money ever have to experience such distasteful service.

I was a little apprehensive about booking a room in a hotel I had not stayed at before but wanted one in that area. The hotel exceeded my expectations. It was in a great location being outside of busy Augusta and easy to get back on the interstate.
I would have stayed again on the way back but was able to reach home without stopping.

This stay has me reconsidering my loyalty to IHG...I stay about 75-100 nights at IHG, but this visit made me wonder if anyone even cares. I was not offered anything at check in; not points, a water...nothing. Usually, I would not notice but I recently had to travel overseas and stayed at a competitor. My coworker was a higher status at this chain and they treated him like a valued customer. Honestly, they treated me better than this hotel did as a simple guest.
