Snowy Range Ski Area

Snowy Range Ski and Recreation Area is a small ski area in southeastern Wyoming, located about five miles from the town of Centennial in Medicine Bow National Forest. At 32 miles away, it is the closest ski area to Laramie, home of the University of Wyoming.

Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site

The Wyoming Territorial Prison is a former federal government prison near Laramie, Wyoming.[1] Built in 1872, it is one of the oldest buildings in Wyoming. It operated as a federal penitentiary from 1872 to 1890, and as a state prison from 1890 to 1901. It was then transferred to the University of Wyoming and was used as an agricultural experiment station until 1989. In 1991, the facility was opened to the public, and in 2004, it was designated as Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site.

Laramie Plains Museum

603 East Ivinson Ave, Laramie, WY 82070

The Ivinson Mansion, now the Laramie Plains Museum, was built in 1892 in Laramie, Wyoming by Jane and Edward Ivinson. Designed by architect Walter E. Ware of Salt Lake City and built by local contractor Frank Cook, the house was regarded as the most significant residence in Laramie at its completion. The restored house houses the museum's collections and offices, and is used for events. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 3, 1972.

Williams Conservatory

Located in the Aven Nelson building at the University of Wyoming, our greenhouse is home to over 600 tropical, neotropical, temperate and arid species from around the world. Conservatory facilities are used by researchers, educators, students in both K-12 and post-secondary levels, artists, horticulture enthusiasts, and the general public. The Williams Conservatory is a free public resource open year-around. Plan a visit!

University of Wyoming Vaughan Planetarium

The University of Wyoming Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium is located in the basement of the Physical Sciences building. Enter the Physical Sciences building at the south-western entrance closest to the classroom building and follow the signs down a level to our lobby. The planetarium is located under the computer lab with an elevator and stairs in our lobby area. The planetarium is wheelchair accessible.

University of Wyoming

The University of Wyoming (UW) is a public land-grant research university in Laramie, Wyoming. It was founded in March 1886, four years before the territory was admitted as the 44th state, and opened in September 1887. The University of Wyoming is unusual in that its location within the state is written into the state's constitution. The university also offers outreach education in communities throughout Wyoming and online.

Lake Marie

Known as Wyoming’s Hometown Celebration, Laramie Jubilee Days has been a yearly event ever since. Over the years, Jubilee Days has evolved to include a number of different events, many are still in existence today. Starting with a Kid’s Horse Show and ending with PRCA Rodeo.
