History buffs shouldn't pass up a stroll through this 2.5 acre park and it'scollection of six historic homes, replica of a one room school house, beautiful chapel, blacksmith shop, smokehouse and store. Artifacts depicting how people lived in Collin County from 1854-1920 are on display in the buildings. Public Tours are available 11a.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Gift Shop.

Lake Lavon is a reservoir located in North Texas on the East Fork of the Trinity River. In Collin County just off Highway 78. The 21,400 acre lake began construction in 1948 and was completed in 1953. Large Corp of Engineers reservior covers 21,400 acres. Four large parks with hook ups for campers, also day use parks. Boat ramps, marina services, swimming beaches, hunting areas for ducks. Headquarters west end or the dam off Texas 78 about 10 miles north of Rockwall.

McKinney Performing Arts Center located in beautiful Historic downtown McKinney and is the host to unforgettable concerts and events. Located in the old Collin Count Court House.

Myers Park and Events Center was created in 1969 for Collin County Youth. Land was donated by John and Winnie Myers. The park has now grown to over 165 acres. Numerous events are held every year at the beautiful park. Calendar of events include Brides and Grooms exchange wedding vows, cowboys ride wild broncs and all types of indoor and outdoor events.

The North Texas History Center discovers, preserves and share our North Texas heritage with the present and future generations through its museums and programs. 8000 children attend the events yearly.

Numersous Festivals are held year round in the McKinney area. Arts and Jazz, Oktoberfest, Holiday Tour of Homes, Round-Up on the Range cookoff and parades.

Evenings of art, music and wine take palce on the historic downtown square the second Saturday of every month.

Third Monday Trade Days is the oldest and largest flea market in North Texas. Antiques, arts and crafts, and other items attract shoppers on the weekend preceeding the third Monday of the month. Mopre than 900 vendors booths. Open each weekend before the third Monday of each month.

Located in the Townlake Recreation Area. Six ballfields host to the Adult Leagues Softball teams.

Built in 1900, this 7000 square foot master piece home was center of social, business, art and literary activies. Today it is furnished with antique furniture, artwork and heirlooms. Tours 2pm Tuesdays and Thursdays, Saturday 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.

Located on property granted by the Republic of Texas in 1845. The cemetery honors remains of the orginial Texas settlers of McKinney, including Dr. James Webb Throckmorton, governor of Texas 1866-1867. In addition, headstones mark the presence of 203 veternans from the Texas Revolution, the Mexican War, Cilial War, World War I and Work War II, Korean War and Viet Nam conflicts.

This 21,000 seat arena and surrounding 17 youth soccer fields is the home to FC Dallas' major league soccer team. Facilitiy hosts professional soccer matches, live concerts and internationally -known Dallas Cup soccer championships.

The Cotton Mill in McKinney was built in the 1880's. The Cotton Mill closed in 1969. No it host events such as Weddings, large partys and receptions. Located close to downtown McKinney and historical district. Just a short distance from our hotel.

Situated on a quite CR 126 between US HWY 380 & FM 455 the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm is agreat place to spend a October day. Farm was started in 1997 to create a place where you can witness what its like to be on a farm. On Weekday just $7.00 gets you a hay ride, feed the animals and small or medium pumkin. Weekends-hay ride, feed the animals and a Hot Dog. Pumpkins and drinks are sold seperately.
