With 841 natural lakes, 225 streams and 200 spring ponds, Langlade County provides unlimited fishing opportunities from pan fish to musky. Many of the lakes have public launch access. However, most County lakes are small (less than 100 acres) and are located in remote forest settings. The nearly 400 miles of trout streams support excellent populations of brook, brown and rainbow trout.

The Gartzke Flowage Recreation Area offers trails that are very scenic and traverse through a Norway Pine plantation, upland hardwood, and cedar swamps along the flowage. Several spring seeps dot the landscape and add to the natural beauty of the area. Location: The trail is located entirely on Langlade County property east of Antigo off 5th Avenue Road. Length: 5.5 miles in length and has a variety of trails for all abilities.

Whether you carry a shotgun, rifle or bow, and with over 126,000 acres of territory open for public hunting you will find unlimited opportunities in Langlade County’s diverse forests and watersheds. Wildlife available to hunt include dear and bear, ruffed grouse & woodcock, squirrel, rabbit, turkey and waterfowl. Predator hunting is also a big sport in Langlade County. 4.3 miles long, includes three loops, groomed for classic skiing. From Antigo, travel North on Hwy 45 to Hwy I. East on Hwy I to Hwy 52 approximately eight miles.

Just two miles away, Antigo Lake Park makes it easy to lose track of time. The Springbrook Trail winds along the lake on boardwalks and overlooks, with fishing piers and an ADA kayak launch. Kids have their pick of playgrounds. The disc golf course keeps the competitive ones busy. Three ball diamonds host league games all summer, and the shelter and concession stand make picnics effortless. Come winter, swap hiking boots for skis and snowshoes.

Grab your discs and head to this 18-hole course that winds through the Springbrook Trail area. The layout offers a mix of short, tight fairways and wide-open stretches, suitable for beginners while still challenging experienced players. About a 7-minute drive from the hotel, the course is free and built through local donations. Park at the Virginia Street cul-de-sac for the closest access to hole one, or start from the Second Avenue boardwalk for a scenic approach along Spring Brook.

A downtown Antigo landmark since 1916, this historic theatre has shown movies to generations of local residents and visitors. Now operating as the McKenzie Palace Theatre, it screens current releases with a classic small-town charm you will not find at a megaplex. Just a 6-minute drive away, this community-built playground is a favorite for families traveling with kids. Located within Peaceful Valley Park, Rockin Robin's World features a whimsical design with castle towers, railroad cars, and ships, plus a separate tot area with a sandbox. Locals call it Castle Park for its distinctive look. The surrounding park includes an ice rink in winter and open green space for picnics. It is the kind of place where kids burn off energy after a long ride.

Set inside a preserved 1905 Carnegie Library building on Superior Street, this museum tells the story of Antigo and Langlade County through artifacts, documents, and photographs. The campus also includes a steam locomotive and caboose from the early 1900s, plus the original 1878 log cabin of Antigo's founder, Francis Deleglise. About 2 miles from the hotel, the museum serves as both a historical site and a welcome center. It offers seasonal hours, so check ahead before visiting.
