Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointment to a Frequent Guest Very disappointed. I was on a mini personal vacation. I arrived on Thurs (Oct 29) and departed Sunday (Nov 1). Fri in the early AM (3am) I received a Tornado Warning alert on my cell phone, I called the front desk and they were not aware and was not sure what the guest should do (no signs indicated where to go in the event of a tornado); being from Michigan I moved to the bathroom until it appeared to be over -- electric went out at this time too. At 8am, front desk could not say when electric would come back and no breakfast was going to be served (or they said but it appears they did serve something later in AM after I returned as the lady was cleaning up). I left to get breakfast and went down the road and saw all other hotels having electric (never went out). After breakfast I came back to room and electric had come back. That evening I had planned to stay in because of the weather and wanted to watch movies. At 8pm the electric went off for awhile and then when it came back the cable did not come back; I kept checking and it did not come back until later in evening (after I had fallen asleep). I woke very early due to time change and getting to bed early and went out to breakfast bar; first one there for the AM (6:00) and one of the cinnamon roll pans had 3/4 of them gone and they were dark brown & hard...I am pretty sure they were from the day before. Then, I had asked for management to call me as I wanted to discuss my stay and the person at desk took all my info and said they would call me on Monday; it has been two weeks and no one has contacted me.... This is very disappointing to me as I have stayed there many, many times for business and pleasure. It makes me feel not really valued as a guest and may decide on other hotel in future. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Clean, comfortable and safe I feel that some circumstances conspired against me to keep my stay from being the excellent stays that I normally experience at a Holiday Inn Express. If you enjoy staying at Holiday Inn Express properties than their is no reason to expect that your stay here wouldn't be on par with what you have experienced elsewhere with just a few exceptions. If security cameras at every turn make you feel more secure, then you will feel extremely safe there. If you, like I, find them a bit disconcerting then you will find it hard to escape their unblinking eye in any common area. The multi-function TVs are limited by the very basic (yet easy to clean) remotes. I would recommend downloading a remote app for your smart phone, such as "Quick Remote" to unlock useful features such as sleep timer, TV alarm clock (TV comes on at specific time), or input modes. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed My family enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn- Lake Jackson. I had the most comfortable bed and the pillows were definitely amazing, I finally had a great night sleep, I think i finally found the perfect pillow to purchase. The hotel was clean and even had that great smell. The best part of my stay when leaving the hotel the cleaning crew ( 4 females) told my two boys and myself good morning, some said it in Spanish too. But that made my day to see that even acknowledged us. My kids and i replied back good morning November 4, 2015

They had a wide variety of food choices for breakfast. This would be my first choice for a hotel to stay at when I am in the area. October 21, 2015
