The mission of the 4 Wing Cold Lake Air Force Museum (CLAFM) is to preserve and display the history from 1952 to present of 4 Wing Cold Lakeand the squadrons and units which are, or have been, stationed at or affiliated with 4 Wing Cold Lake and its antecedent formations. Located behind the Tri-City Mall, the Cold Lake Museum has recreated the history of the local area with the Aboriginal Gallery, the Heritage Gallery, the Oil and Gas Gallery, and the Air Force Gallery.

The Saddle Lake Lateral Loop project is an upgrade that will see construction of an approximately 20-inch line for 20-kilometres, which will begin at the Kent Sales Metre Station, located eight-km southwest of Cold Lake. It will tie into TC Energy’s existing natural gas system, and travel 20-km east to the Cold Lake Border Station and Cherry Grove Metre Station.

Hit the slopes for downhill skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing at Kinosoo Ridge, a community-built resort on the shores of French Bay. With five lifts, three terrain parks ranging from beginner to advanced, and a dedicated tube park, there is something for every skill level. The resort opened in 1980 through the efforts of Canadian Armed Forces members at CFB Cold Lake. About 15 minutes from the hotel, it is a winter highlight with equipment rentals and a cozy lodge to warm up.

On warm summer days, the sandy beach and calm waters of Cold Lake Provincial Park draw campers, swimmers, and paddlers looking for a genuine outdoor escape. The park offers 117 campsites with power hookups, plus 12 secluded walk-in sites. Over 200 bird species nest in the surrounding boreal forest, making it a favourite for birdwatchers. About 12 minutes from the hotel, the park also features groomed cross-country ski trails in winter for guests who want to explore beyond the city.

The white sands of Kinosoo Beach stretch for three blocks along the north residentieal area of Cold Lake North. This is a great place for spending a carefree day by yourself or with your loved ones. Soak in the sun, swim, canoe! The kids will have a blast at the water park!

A popular local recreation area surrounding the Cold Lake Energy Centre, Imperial Park brings together baseball diamonds, pickleball courts, soccer fields, a skate park, and an off-leash dog park. Families and sports teams flock here for tournaments and casual play. Just a 7-minute drive from the hotel, it is an easy stop for guests travelling with kids or looking to stretch their legs. The park also features an RV water fill station and sani dump for road trippers exploring the region.

Cold Lake's go-to recreational hub, the Energy Centre houses two arenas, a field house, a climbing wall, a walking track, a wellness centre, and a children's playroom. It hosts sporting events, concerts, trade shows, and summer camps year-round, making it a strong draw for tournaments and family activity. Located just 5 km from the hotel, the facility also serves as the administrative hub for the Cold Lake Marina. Free Wi-Fi and over 750 parking spots make every visit convenient for guests.

While access to the base is restricted, the military presence at 4 Wing Cold Lake is a defining part of the community's identity. Home to two CF-18 Hornet fighter squadrons and two training squadrons, 4 Wing contributes to NORAD missions around the clock. The biannual Cold Lake Air Show brings thousands of visitors to the area, filling hotels and creating a buzz across town. Roughly 5 km from the hotel, the base is the closest option for military personnel travelling to the region.
