We drove all the way from Frisco, TX to stay at this particular location in Irving due to our last experience.
The stay was about the same with a few exceptions:
1. I'm very afraid of roaches and there was one (only one) in the restroom. My fiance' had to catch and kill it for me.
2. There was a children's basketball league in town and there were young kids/teenagers EVERYWHERE, running and playing and getting pool water all over. They weren't causing any trouble, but this stay was to relax without our own children.
3. Due to the tournament and increased number of guests, breakfast was hit or miss. Staff were having difficulty keeping the food replenished and the pancake machine wasn't working. This isn't a complaint, we were still able to eat very well and return to our room to relax a bit more before checkout.
All in all, I still plan to stay at this location whenever I'm in the Dallas area.

Staff at this hotel is always friendly. The property is always clean. The AC unit for this stay was not functioning properly. It was not unbearable. I informed the front desk at check-out the next morning. I would recommend attention to the fitness facility. I try to keep my workout routine while on business travel. The addition of a small universal weight system, "Smith" machine, along with the existing equipment would be most appreciated.

Upon leaving we were a little worn out, possibly because the hotel was so worn out.
We typically choose Holiday Inn Express first when choosing a hotel. It is typically so consistent in regards to cleanliness and upkeep. This may have been the worst property that we have stayed at. While the cleanliness was not an issue, the overall condition of the property was poor. While the lobby and breakfast area were acceptable, the room and upper floors left a great deal to be desired. Getting off the elevator you could witness worn carpet and dark presentation...really not a huge deal. However upon entering the room, the smell of old cigarette smoke was very overbearing. The bed was difficult to find comfort in as it was broken down and offered very little support. Finally the tub also lacked support and seemed to be sagging....
I stayed at this property about 12 or 13 years ago when it was it was a different brand...I"m not sure much has changed but the signage.
