Must See
Take a walk through Muir Woods, we are the closest hotel to this stunning national park. We are a short trip away from the Golden Gate Bridge, a State icon. Visit the town next door to us, Sausalito, and take a walk along the water front to visit theGolden Gate Bridge, Houseboats in Sausalito, Views from Tiburon, Angel Island, Discovery Museum (young children) Oyster Farms on the Marin west coast.
Must Do
For a nice view of the San Francisco Bay and Golden Gate Bridge, take the ferry from either Larkspur or Tiburon into San Francisco. This will save the hassle of parking in the city and provides a breathtaking experience. If one is going to Muir Woods, take the shuttle directly across the street from the hotel or go early. This is a busy attraction and parking is very limited.
Don't Go Home Without
Dine in our hotel's restaurant Frantoio where olive oil is made from scratch; come during olive season (October---November generally) to see the olive press in action. The local towns in Marin have the best shopping; check out the local eclectic shops of Mill Valley, Tiburon, San Anselmo, and Fairfax. Grateful Dead fan? Visit Phil Lesh's Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael.
Smart Tips
Upgrade to a view of Mount Tam; it is beautiful and is worth the $20.00 upgrade fee. If not renting a car, fly into SFO and use the Marin Airporter shuttle located across the street at the "Manzanita" terminal.
