Start your day with a stroll through the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens which houses over 10,000 species of plants. You'll find the gardens in bloom whatever time of year you visit, even in winter when the camellias are perfect. Finish your walk and recharge at the Terrace Cafe with stunning views of the lake.
Next, walk up the magnificent St Kilda Road to Federation Square - a complex of galleries, museums, restaurants and shops constructed of glass, zinc and sandstone. Take time to visit the exceptional National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) Australia. This public gallery houses an extensive Aboriginal and Australian fine art collection.
For dinner experience contemporary Australian cuisine at Saxe restaurant. Order the daily changing degustation menu to truly experience the local seasonal produce perfectly paired with modern seasonal wine list. After dinner stroll down to the Yarra River and walk along the promenade towards St Kilda Road. En route, look out for the Travellers Bridge; with its bright yellow entrance, a monument to the many immigrants to Australia. Cross the river on the historic Princes Bridge and enjoy the spectactular view of the city. Many landmarks such as Flinders Street Station, Federation Square and the Arts Centre are beautifully lit at night.

During the 1880's and 1890's Melbourne had reputably become the richest city in the world due to the Victorian Gold Rush. With this many buildings still stand today from this boom with a distinctive Gothic Revival Style. The hotel is housed in one of these landmarks.
