Convenient to Iowa State University
By Cheesehead In Texas
I like the convenience of this hotel. It is close to ISU. It is clean and comfortable. The staff is courteous. The windows open a tiny bit to air out the room. It is a bit noisy; it sounded like [More] elephants lived upstairs. The breakfast menu is very limited. WiFi, laundry and fitness are ok. [Less]
Nice place to stay
The room was clean and very nice. Was very impressed with staff and loved that this hotel welcomes pets!! Ordered room service and the service was fast and staff very efficient... the steak wasn't [More] the best for the price, but other than that, my stay was perfect!! [Less]
Comfortable and excellent location if you want to visit ISU
By nkrawat
If you are looking for an excellent location and comfortble stay near ISU, Holliday Inn is the best option. Here the staff is very friendly and rooms are comfortable. The environment is quiet and you [More] get good quality sleep. I will recommend this place for stay if you have any work at ISU. [Less]
Comfortable Bed and Great Service
By MomOTwinHSSeniors
The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The free breakfast was great as it included options to satisfy everyone in our party. [Less]

The food was adequate but the attitude of the person in charge of replenishing the food items left a lot to be desired. When we arrived, most of the items needed replenishing and the person was [More] nowhere to be found. I did hear that he was there alone since someone did not show up but the attitude he displayed to the customers was one of not caring and you could see he was not making an effort to be pleasant and accommodating. Other than this experience our stay met our expectations. [Less]
Good Room but Handicapped Accessories
By S A C
Nice/clean hotel but we were given a handicapped room when we did not need one and the hotel check in staff did not tell us that we were being given this type of room as a walk in guest. All of the [More] room was nice but the shower had accessories for the handicap, bars and hand held shower head. Sure hope others that came along after us that night did not need these types of accessories...... [Less]

Should have chose it in the first place!
When we first tried to book a room at the hotel we were unable to use our corporate discount because of the Iowa State Fair so we booked a cheaper room, big mistake, we saw the room, gave the front [More] desk back the keys and immediately booked Holiday Inn Express which we should have booked in the first place because you always know what you are going to get from this chain, clean rooms, comfortable beds [Less]
Should have picked in the first place!!
By rltowns59
We called to book a room with our corporate discount, but it was Iowa State Fair week and they don't honor discounts so instead we booked a cheaper hotel, which we checked into and was so [More] disappointed, that we called Holiday Inn Express immediately to change rooms, luckily they had a room for us & we were not disappointed!! With Holiday Inn Express you know what you are getting, what the beds & rooms are like to the breakfast they have to offer!! Next time we will check with Holiday Inn Express 1st and not look for something cheaper!! [Less]
