Introduction to Bahrain
The Kingdom of Bahrain is an archipelago of 33 islands, jutting into the Persian Gulf between Saudi Arabia and Qatar. While Islam is reflected in its traditions and culture, the country also has a cosmopolitan lifestyle, especially in its capital, Manama. The city has been one of the main trade ports in the Middle East, and over the centuries has been ruled by the Portuguese, Persians and Arabs. In Bahrain, IHG’s hotels include luxury accommodations in Manama’s diplomatic quarter, and a hotel with outdoor pools and an inviting spa.
