Visit the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler, TX, where they have lions, white tigers, elephants, giraffe, and more! This zoo is inexpensive and makes for a great family activity. From mid-April to June, visit the Tyler Rose Garden and view 35,000 rose bushes in full-bloom. This is a spectacular sight favored among guests, which also takes place again in mid-October to December.

Of course you can’t beat the fun of renting a boat and motoring around Lake Palestine, or fishing, in spring or summer! If traveling with young children, the highly rated Discovery Science Place in Tyler is a favorite stop! It features activities and hands-on exhibits that encourage full engagement for parents and their children.

Tyler State Park has 13 miles of relaxing hiking trails through picturesque woodlands around a 64-acre lake including the Whispering Pines Nature Trail, a historic area created over 70 years ago. It’s a wonderful stop for outdoor lovers any time of year, but is especially beautiful when the leaves turn color.

Although our marina rents boats, if you’re looking for fishing charters instead, there are several to choose from around the lake. Inquire at the marina, and if you want to get away from the resort to explore, Tyler is the closest city to the resort. Its center is less than 17 miles away and offers many points of interest, family attractions and additional dining options.
