David Walley’s Resort is in a rural location in Carson Valley, just outside downtown Genoa, Nevada, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It is south of Carson City and west of South Lake Tahoe, which sits at the border between Nevada and California. Reno is the closest major city in Nevada (north) along I-580. Sacramento (west), is the closest major city in California along I-50, through the Eldorado National Forest.
If coming east out of Sacramento, merge onto CA-99 S/I-80BL E/US-50 E and continue to follow I-50 for 94.2 mi. Turn right onto Pioneer Trail and go 7.9 mi, and then right after 7-Eleven (on the left). Follow it for 0.2 mi, and then take a left onto Montreal Rd and go 0.3 mi. Continue onto Lake Pkwy for another 0.8 mi to enter Nevada. Turn right onto US-50 E and go 0.3 mi, and then continue onto NV-207 E/Kingsbury Grade Rd. for 11.1 mi. Turn left onto NV-206 N/Foothill Rd and go 3.7 mi. The resort will be on your right.
If coming from the north, pickup I-80 E out of Reno and stay right to take exit 15 to merge onto I-580 S/US-395 S toward Carson City. Go 35.3 mi and stay left to exit onto US-395 S/S Carson St. (continue to follow US-395 S). Go 10.4 mi, and then turn right onto NV-757 W/Muller Ln and follow for 3.2. mi. Take a right onto NV-206 N/Foothill Rd and go 0.7 mi. The resort will be on your left.
If driving in from points east/northeast, your best bet is to pick up I-80 W, which runs east-west across the northern part of the state into Reno. Then, follow the directions above.
From north/northwest California, you have two options. Head to Sacramento via I-5 S and then follow those directions above to the resort, or take the more rural route US-395 S along the edge of the Plumas National Forest. Follow US-395 S for 80 mi to enter Nevada, and then another 35.2 mi on I-580 S/US-395 S to merge (on left) onto US-395 S/S Carson St. and continue for 10.4 mi. Turn right onto NV-757 W/Muller Ln and follow for 3.2. mi. Take right onto NV-206 N/Foothill Rd and go 0.7 mi. The resort will be on your left.
From points south in California, if not coming from the Fresno area via Sacramento, you will be passing through or alongside various National Forests. From Bishop, Benton or Bridgeport and other town in the south, pickup US-395 N and follow all the way into Minden, Nevada. A little outside of the town, you’ll see NV-757 W (Mueller Ln.) on your left. Take that left and go 3.2 mi., and then right onto NV-206 N/Foothill Rd. and go 0.8 miles. The resort is on right.
Please note that the spa has been closed and the resort no longer offers spa services. However, guests can still access the hot springs. The rental nightly rate does not include access to the hot springs. Entrance is $55.00/day per person.
