Stayed in two different rooms, due to unfriendliness of front staff and not helping to book rooms with the hotel being full. The room we received on the 2nd floor smelled of dirty socks. Then some idiots decided to pull the fire alarm on a Saturday night with tons of sleeping kids there for a baseball tournament. Beds were confortable and pillows ok. It is one of the best hotels in Beatrice to stay so I guess you take what you can get.

Our room seemed shabby and I realize this hotel is in the middle of a remodel but I think the prices should reflect what you are receiving.
Our room wasn't clean enough w/ popcorn kernels on the carpet.
The bathroom light took 15 minutes to warm up to be able to see well in the bathroom/shower area.
The tub/shower plug did not work properly and repeatedly closed on its own while we showered.
I don't feel this hotel meets the standard that we have expected at HIE.

this hotel is very nice. they are in the middle of a major remodeling. everything was excellent very clean although it was a little pricey compared with the surrounding hotels the time we stayed was during the cities yearly festival so we expected this it;s the only hotel in beatrice that we would stay in. we stayed at the neighboring hotel and it was terrible.

I had high expectations of this location, especially compared to most of the other options in Beatrice. We had also spent the previous night in a Holiday Inn Express in Des Moines and had a fantastic experience there.
I had requested a room for 4, 2 adults and 2 children, teenagers. The website knew this information and offered me the choice of a King bed suite. Knowing there was a sleeper sofa, I could only assume that it was able to sleep 2 to meet the accommodation needs that I listed.
We arrived to find the hotel completely full (not a particular problem) but also going through a lot of renovation. There were ladders and equipment all over the hotel and dust cloths, etc. This is at least an encouraging sign for the future.
When we got to our room, we found out that it was still on the list to be remodeled based on the quality of the room. The primary concern was sleeping space. The sleeper sofa wasn't even big enough to qualify as a love seat in my estimation, and when it was opened up, it seemed smaller than a twin bed. Not what 2 teenagers need. The mattress on the bed was 3 inches thick at best and it was obvious that it would be a miserable night for the person who slept on it.
I went to the front desk and told them that the accommodations were inadequate for 4 despite the website indicating that it was a match. I asked if I could get a rollaway bed to meet the need. The clerk stated that the hotel was full, that she wasn't sure they had any available, but she would check and call the room. She did call back fairly quickly, but with news that they did not have any available. The best option they could provide was additional bedding materials. So we had to place blankets on the the thinly carpeted floor for one of the teenagers.
The air/heat unit was the older style of push buttons on the unit. As I said, carpet was thin and old. Primary king bed was fine. Other furnishings were a little dated, but passable and clean.
Breakfast was great. No other problems. Still think that its a better option than most others in Beatrice.

Upon entering our room it reeked of smoke. We immediately
turned on the air conditioner to get some fresh air. The air conditioner was extremely old therefore we then had smoke smell mixed with musty smell.
After an hour of getting showered and ready for bed we pulled out the sleeper sofa for my daughter to sleep on only to find a cigarette under the cushions.
We are not a picky family, all we want is clean, we did not feel that expectation was met here.
The staff was very nice yet the price that I was given on the phone did not match the price I had to pay. I pulled up my reservation email and it didn't have the price I was quoted so I blame myself for not making sure I was given the quoted price so I paid $30 extra.
