The 14-acre Schrock Lake serves as a focal point of this 761-acre Metro Park. The lake provides the setting for kids' and seniors' fishing, bird watching and picnicking. The park is a mixture of forests and open fields. You'll see numerous towering oak, hickory and beech trees. Many seasonal pools associated with the swamp forest communities are present and provide critical spring breeding habitat for amphibians and other wildlife.

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is home to more than 9,000 animals representing 675 species and provides more than $1 million annually to support over 70 conservation projects worldwide. A recreational and education destination that includes the 22-acre Zoombezi Bay water park and 18-hole Safari Golf Club, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium hosts more than two million visitors annually and was named the #1 Zoo in America by USA Travel Guide.

COSI, the Center of Science and Industry, features more than 300 interactive exhibits throughout themed exhibition areas – Ocean, Space, Gadgets, Life, Little Kidspace, Progress, the outdoor Big Science Park, and the newly opened Lily Pad, a watershed division of Ocean. WOSU@COSI, began in 2006 and is the first public broadcasting and science center partnership. In 2009, Parents Magazine named COSI the #1 Science Center for families in the country.
