Not a great hotel, but among the best options in the area

Big Bear isn’t known for its luxurious lodging. This hotel is the only chain hotel in the area, and I felt more comfortable at a brand-name hotel rather than taking a chance at an independent hotel.
The room itself was on the small side, but did have a microwave and mini fridge, which was convenient. The room could have been cleaner (there was copious dust behind the dresser). There were very few outlets in the room, most of which were taken up by lamps (which were dim and did not have USB ports or AC outlets on the base). The bathroom exhaust fan did nothing except make a loud noise.
The outdoor hot tub was on the small side.
The hotel has thin floors and walls, so you can clearly hear the guests in the rooms above and next to you. The layout of the hotel is confusing.
Overall, if I had a better option I probably would not have stayed here. But considering the state of lodging in the Big Bear area, there might not be a better option.

I really appreciate the staff at the Big Bear, CA resort. They try very hard despite the supply challenges. They are extremely polite and hard working. The location of this resort is very convenient for families being close to main street with all the restaurant and the bowling hall as well as the Ski Lodges
Mediocre IHG Experience

This is the third stay at this location. The fantastic location and the grounds are what I expect from IHG. Still, this time our experience with the staff could have been better. Maybe it was a bad day, but it did not warrant displacing IHG as our go-to travel accommodation solution.

I always love staying at this IHG location. Quiet, clean, comfortable rooms and the staff are very helpful. I always get a King suite with a fireplace over looking the village. The restaurant attached to the hotel has great food.

Great location, just a few blocks from the Village (Pine Knot). Large uncovered parking lot can fit all vehicles. Swimming pool, jacuzzi and game room a big plus. No exercise room. Hotel room looking a bit tired, need to change all power outlets as they are all mostly loose fitting.

Room was nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and the location is great. They also have an arcade with a variety of games which was nice. No room service available when I was there and if a buffet was going on at the restaurant you couldn’t order from menu.

This has all the makings of a good hotel as a center in the middle of town. However, the staff is extremely rude and the price is over inflated. The beds are super uncomfortable and the hotel needs to be updated.

Annual Family Trip to Big Bear for Skiing.
Great Location but the Quality of the Hotel and the Sevice Attitude of the Staff is subpar
1. Check-in Staff did not recognize me as Diamond Member. Not sure if he knew or didn't know.
2. No upgrade room was offered. I don't know if a room upgrade was available because the check-in staff did not say anything. It would be nice if mentioned and not have the guest guessing
3. Breakfast choice and quality were terrible. Scrambled egg, sausage, bacon, stale french toast, fruit bowl, canned juice, coffee, yogurt. This was included because I was a diamond member but I would not pay $18 per person.
4. I called the night before to request for late check-out and was told I need to call in the morning to request. I called in the morning and got 1 additional hour. I requested 2 additional hours and did not get it until I told them I was Diamond Member. I thought when I call from the room, Hotel know what membership status the guest belongs to but maybe I'm wrong.
5. Room was just plain with two beds, a desk, closet for clothes.
For Resort I thought it should offer something different but the room looked just like any other hotel. Feel old but I think Hotel itself is old so no complaint there. There are rooms with a patio and fireplace but not sure if Diamond members have a chance to upgrade to these rooms or not.
As final thought, location is great but everything else is just so so. Hard to recommend unless really need to stay near Big Bear Lake and Ski Resorts.

Staff gave me attitude. Room was overpriced for such a mediocre experience. View was not good. Paid extra for features that were misleading

We stayed for 2 nights the day after Christmas. Everything was great except that we did not get housekeeping even though t was requested a couple of times. We did finally get extra towels but no room makeup which was a bummer but good enough. Overall, location is great, front desk is nice and I would recommend. Planning our next trip.
