Check in was not a good experience!!!

My stay was great , but I was a little overwhelmed and disappointed in my check inn. There were a few things that took place and I was not happy . The front desk staff was not of any assistance. I was told the day of check in I couldn’t use my credit card because that location only accepted certain kinds of cards . And. I was not informed of that at all upon booking my stay. I had to wait till my partner came into town to use his card so I sat in my car for mor than two hours . After traveling a distance to begin with. Also the price of the room that was given to me over the phone was not the price that I was told at the time of check in. Being a rewards member I expected to pay exactly what was told to me over the phone. With taxes and fees already being included, as I have over the phone booking a stay in the past. Nothing was polite or helpful or smooth about my check inn. I don’t know if I would choose this location again . I also think I was over charged.

No housekeeping. No restocking. Bad breakfast.

Just not a good experience. Was told no housekeeping services the three days we were there. Had to come down to the desk and get my own toilet paper / towels. Breakfast was awful. Out of everything. Broken juice machines, expired milk, bad tasting food, and always out of their signature cinnamon rolls.

I stayed two nights in this hotel. It was not satisfied when compared with the price I paid. The hotel building has five stories but the ice making machine works only 1,3,5 floors. The atmosphere the front of the hotel has an empty buildings. Homeless might live there!

Better than camping

We were visiting family in Evanston and this was the closest hotel we could afford. I accidentally booked 2 standard beds instead of 2 queen beds. There was plenty of room for queens. The room felt barren and not welcoming (no curtains, bare walls). Breakfast was advertised until 9:30, but they stopped restocking before that, so you get what you get. They did have an ice and water machine in the lobby, which was nice because the one on our floor did not work. Also the pool was supposed to be open, but it was missing about 4.5 feet of water.

Bathroom had mold or dirt on the soap dispenser in the shower, Would have liked more towels. All soap containers needed to be refilled as they were low. No hangers in the room only hooks all clothes can not be hooked.Room was clean and basic provided for our needs during the time there

I’ve stayed at many IHG hotels and this one will be one I won’t return to. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I’ve ever experienced. The hotel has paper thin internal and external walls. Bring your eye mask, ear plugs, and sleep meds cause you are going to need them. Then, after a horrible night of sleep plan to pay for breakfast somewhere. The gentleman in charge of the breakfast area appears overworked and will throw out some slices of bread, overcooked eggs, a gallon of milk, and some off brand cereal. Pancake machine broke, long line. Don’t expect things like cinnamon rolls, bagels, or smiles. Not here. Hot water for tea, nope. Apple juice, nope. Broken. Never again.

1. Bathroom was completely dirty
2. There was not soap, shampoo, conditioner, tissue everything was empty when asked front desk he replied not sure where to find so did not provide
3. Looks like Only one man working all the shifts that’s a reason may be he is getting tired and not listening guest or avoiding to provide service

This hotel being a Holiday Express & Suites which I use all the time when traveling was a horrible experience from the commode being clogged up for 6 hours to having bitten to there sauce patties being frozen then the next day there’s know spatula to pull your sweet bread or regular bread from the glass case where they keep it. I asked to cook there’s no spatula can you get us one he goes in the covers and there’s one in an orange container. I pull it out in. It’s dirty so I assume this is dirty he says oh it’s one day dirty. It’s not gonna hurt you. And the manager Tammy was told from IHG corporation, and from their assistant manager to give me a call I checked out on the eighth into this day. She has not given me a call. This is why this place is not being run correctly because a manager that’s not responsible of calling a customer is why this property has the worst service because the employees are getting away with a manager that’s not responsible. I advise that Tammy gets fired as soon as possible and be replaced with a manager that will keep this property going by putting rules and being stern but at the same time courteous to its employees, and to the customers

Not heated pool with garbage floating on top!

On the IHG app this location stated that their outdoor heated pool was open and this is why we chose this location. When I checked in I ask if the pool was open and she said yes but the heater was not on. Now sure why the heated pool was not on. We unpacked and went down to the poolside and the filter was not running and there was garbage in the pool. I told the women at the front desk and she had two people clean it. The people finish cleaning the garage out and just walked away, they did not say they were done. My grandchildren did go in the pool which was very cold.

The hotel was easy to get to from the highway and close to nearby shopping and places to eat. I was surprised to have to drive through a lot for a vacant and dilapidated property to get to the hotel. The room overall was adequate, yet the shower door would not stay closed, and the windows and blinds/shades were dirty. The breakfast was hot and delicious. The fitness center could use an update and the hotel in general was outdated. However, for the group rate we received, it was a decent stay.
