Great place for comfortable, relaxing stay. Prices are reasonable for the Island. Staff is accommodating. Just hop in a hammock and watch the boats sailing and palms swaying in the breeze....[Less]
A Hidden Gem in Grand Cayman
My expectations were pretty low for this trip. I was only in Grand Cayman for two days for meetings and had no expectations of a nice hotel experience. I could not have been more surprised..... The[More] location is fine and rooms are what one would expect, but the staff are brilliant. Shalico works in reception and is the single most outstanding employee based in a reception that I have encountered anywhere...and I travel a huge amount with work. My suit needed urgent repairs before a meeting and he arranged for a tailor to make the repairs and return it to my room! Lloyd drives the shuttle bus and was an absolute joy with his friendly service and wonderful anecdotes. Here was a slice of the traditional, charming Caribbean I had scarcely expected to encounter in this flying trip to this modern island. The gardens are lovely and restaurant and bar were great. I felt wonderfully at home and slept extremely well in the comfortable bed. Would I return...this time with my wife and children? Absolutely, the staff alone make this experience entirely worthwhile. So next time you make the mistake of assuming one needs to stay in a little boutique hotel to get the "authentic Caribbean experience", and the Holiday Inn is too large. global and modern and could not possibly live up to your expectations, think again and visit this little gem on Grand Cayman.[Less]
This is a nice Holiday Inn Resort located on a beautiful island in the Caribbean. The staff is super friendly. While the hotel beach is not very good due to seaweed influx, they have a shuttle[More] service to take you to the 7 mile beach and local attractions. Personally my wife and I just walked every day to enjoy the scenery. The rooms were large and well priced - we even had a full sized kitchen which saved money going out for dinner. My only comment was we paid for breakfast to be included but the hotel did not give us full breakfast vouchers until two nights before we left. Also, the radio in the pool area had a weird habit of being left on the religious channels. The only suggestion I could make for improvement would be having the hotel shuttle pick people up at the airport if available, that would save travelers a bunch of money.
Thanks again for a wonderful vacation! We can't wait to go back![Less]
