First, the staff at front desk were very helpful and caring. The room was large sized and if I could, I would have taken the shower water pressure back home. Loved it! The Hotel itself was wonderful, [More] grounds well kept, view of mirror lake and seating accommodations all throughout the grounds. Almost all aspects of our stay were perfect. The not so perfect was the staff at the restaurant/bar. Even though our tab for our entire stay was very healthy, we felt that the staff could have been more attentive. For example, when we had 4-8 friends with us for drinks, we had to go into the bar to place the order and we also had to retrieve the drinks to the table. You would have thought someone would have at the very least, offered to help. Another incident, we traveled with a family that had a service dog and were un-aware that our dog was not allowed on the patio. We fully understood the rules after reading and being told but the delivery of the news from the waitstaff was terrible, it was as if they didnt even want us to come back. Again, another incident, while we were having cocktails early afternoon (don't judge we were on vacation) our kids and their friends went into town and got sandwiches. We were literally "scolded" for bringing food onto the patio. If I was working with the staff, I would let them know their is a way to approach the customer and they could of offered the kids to eat off the patio so we could have still socialized and enjoyed cocktails but the whole incident left a sour taste! We did eat at the restaurant and food was good. The vibe, not so much. Other than that, I would of given the hotel 5 stars. [Less]

Hotel is located in a great location of downtown Lake Placid. The hotel amenities are top-notch, the rooms are clean, breakfast dinner and the bar area are spot on with great food and excellent [More] staff. All personnel are professional, courteous, and friendly. [Less]

We have stayed here 3 times. Rooms are lovely, ambiance is wonderful. My only complaints are that there are no robes, and that no matter how much you spend on cocktails in the lounge, you cannot [More] bring in outside food to eat outside on the patio. With an entirely EMPTY lounge and restaurant, we purchased cocktails and took them outside on the patio to drink with some food we had purchased in town and were asked to leave. I could absolutely understand if there were ANY other guests there, but it was completely empty - both inside and outside on the patio. That really soured my stay. [Less]

Loved the area,hotel was very nice looking,well maintained. Had a couple of issues. Asked for a room close to the elevator because of mobility issues and it was door away from being the furthest. [More] Paid for lake view but got city parking,a patch of grass and a small corner of lake. At dinner my waiter dumped the tray of water glasses on me, instead of grabbing a towel promptly she just stood there for a moment then asked if I was OK walked away only to return with a few napkins clearly not enough to even dry me off or the ice and water off the table finally got more towels but puddle on the floor remained. The food was wonderful though. This is a great place to stay, but there are a few things on this trip that could of been done by the staff to make it excellent [Less]

Overall great experience here. Got there early and was checked in within 15 mins! Front desk staff beyond friendly and helpful. Welcome chocolates was a plus and totally delicious as well as flavored [More] water kept us satisfied while we waited in our room. I would have loved a room upgrade but our two bed room was clean and lovely and my kids loved the window view of Saranac Lake. Absolutely breathtaking. We enjoyed the outdoor amenities and had some fun playing games and just enjoying the atmosphere. The restaurant being on the property was perfect. Food was good and service was excellent. My overall stay here was excellent. I felt welcomed by staff and that really made the stay even better. I hope to return with my family in the future! [Less]

Wonderful Accommodations

This is such a nice hotel from the kindness of the Front Desk to the extra comfortable beds. The hospitality shown in the dining area, such a pretty location. Large parking lot, easy to walk [More] downtown, nice layout. Very clean and modern, will definitely return for another stay. [Less]
