Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Frogs everywhere in our room. The hotel is pretty and the restaurant is very nice. The problem we had was small frogs all over the room. We collected 10 and then called the desk. They sent over two maintenance men and they collected 5 more frogs. There were still frogs under the bed so they changed our room to another building, which also had frogs in the enhance way. The second room had no frogs but the bathroom had towels on the floor and was not clean. This was at 10pm. We were leaving with our bags when the manager came over and said he would check another room with us. This room had no frogs and was clean, except for socks and eyeglasses under the bed. He gave us a $20.00 coupon for breakfast in the restaurant. I think the problem is there is NO weather stripping under any of the doors. People had towels stuffed in the sides and bottom of the room doors to keep the frogs out. This would be an easy fix if someone wanted to solve a problem that may only happen certain times of the year. To bad because it is a really nicely decorated hotel. September 2, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Short stay at Holiday Inn Chinle Well kept hotel very near to the entrance of the Canyon de Chelley. Room was clean and well furnished and the beds were very comfortable. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and found the service and food to be good. All in all an excellent place to stay when visiting the Canyon. September 1, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Smelled like an ashtray - disgusting property. The rooms for the HI Canyon de Chelly resemble ones that were forgotten in time from 1975. Which isn't necessarily the worst thing in the world, except you realize that it smells like someone has been smoking cigarettes in that room since 1975 and no one has bothered to air it out. The room that we were assigned smelled so badly that a 5 minute stay in the room lingered on our clothes for the entire day. It was that filthy. Yuck. Staff were not apologetic, despite my clear request for a non-smoking room. This is the type of property that you would book only on a last resort, and is not nearly of the Holiday Inn standard. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Small Oasis We were pleasantly surprised by the charming appearance of this Holiday Inn. We were happy with everything. The restaurant was convenient and had good food. My only negative experience was at check-in. The staff person was occupied on the phone and I stepped back a few steps to give her privacy. However, the phone call continued on for a extremely long time and she could have acknowledged me in some manner. I didn't expect her to drop everything, but just let me know she'd be with me when she could. Even after my husband came in and asked what was going on, she continued to ignore our presence. I was very uncomfortable and walked out to the front of the hotel to avoid any scene my husband might make as he is less patient than myself. Again if she had just looked up and said "I'll be with you in a minute" that would have been fine. The rest of the staff were great from the restaurant to the maids. August 22, 2015

The staff was excellent and more professional than many hotels I have stayed across the country. The whole experience was great and I WILL stay there again. The Canyon is beautiful and a way to relax after a full day's work. August 17, 2015
