There are not enough words for me to express the outstanding job that the staff at the Holiday Inn Naples did during my stay from 13 Mar – 11 Apr 2016. I truly felt like a member of the family – from
the warm greetings I received every time I entered the hotel, to the prompt and courteous service from the valet attendants retrieving my car every morning, to the warm and welcoming greeting given every time I entered the restaurant or bar. I could not have been treated better, and I fully feel that this is the best hotel in Naples for travelers to stay. The food was delicious, the rooms spacious and comfortable, and it was a very nice treat to listen to live piano music every evening in the bar and then during dinner. I do need to call out some very special individuals that work there:
The dining experience was excellent every evening I was in there. The menu had a wide variety of choices, food was delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming. The staff was very friendly and quick to respond to your every need, but there are two that I wish to specifically call out for an outstanding job. Aldo and Susi always greeted me warmly with a smile as I entered the restaurant, were prompt with service, and were always making my dining experience one to truly remember. I usually sat at the same table every night, and it became a passing comment when I entered that my table was ready for me. Aldo went so far as to try to get some school children who were visiting and having dinner in the upstairs to quiet down so that the guests (and me) could enjoy our meals and the piano music. It was to no avail, as everyone knows how difficult it is to get teenagers to be quiet at any time, let alone at dinner. But to simply make the effort is the sign of an excellent staff who is trying to make the dining experience enjoyable for all guests. And Susi was always gracious with me, waiting patiently as I tried to figure out what I wanted for the evening.
Paolo and Antonio in the bar would always greet me with a handshake and used my name in their greeting. And Paolo went above and beyond one evening for me, as I had returned to the hotel a few minutes before 10 PM, only to find the phones were out of service (but were being worked on). By the time I got to the front desk and asked about getting food, I was informed that there would be food in the bar but the restaurant had already closed. When I asked Paolo what was available, he responded with what would I like. When I told him Cheeseburger and Fries, he was able to get the kitchen to make that for me despite the fact that it was after 10 PM. That is a very class act by the entire cooking staff and Paolo for being able to get for me something that any other hotel would have denied. A very big thank you to them all for that effort.
Every morning, I left early (6 AM) to get to work, and I always received a friendly greeting from the front desk and very quick service to the car from the valet attendants. There were days when I arrived my car was already waiting for me to drive out, as they had become so accustomed to my schedule. That is quality service provided that you will not find at any other hotel. In fact, in conversations with my colleagues who stayed at a different hotel in Naples, they usually had to wait upwards of 10 minutes before getting their car every morning, despite leaving at the same time every day just like me.
And last but certainly not least, Eleonora at the front desk. When my room air conditioning was not providing comfort, a maintenance man was sent and the problem was resolved. When it again failed, Eleonora was quick to reassign me to a new room, and because I had made a comment about being able to open the window, she moved me to a room with a balcony and an outstanding view of Vesuvius. I could not be happier at the level of service she provided at moving me to this excellent room. She was always very welcoming and greeted me by name every evening when I returned from work, and that is the mark of an outstanding staff. She was also very attentive whenever I needed clarification to something or when I required the new Wi-Fi password. She is truly a great asset to the hotel.
Despite the length of time I was away from home, I truly felt like I was with a new family, as the staff was so welcoming and friendly, and always quick to assist me whenever I needed it. On all of my future trips, I will definitely pick the Holiday Inn over any other Naples area hotel. It was truly a great experience. [Less]
